What's wrong with driving through southern minnesota?! Lol, well yes. The highways and interstate cut straight across the flat, featureless plains. Unless you're really interested in endless fields, it can be pretty drab.
Nice photos of the mountains. Did you stop in the Black Hills on your way out there? The Badlands are also fascinating, but very desolate.
I really miss living in Ronda, where I could see the mountains from my doorstep.
Except for stopping to see the Jolly Green giant, that MN I90 route is horribly long and boring. Finally arriving at the Missouri River is always a thrill!

I-90 goes pretty close to Pipestone, a national monument! :-)
