To be fair, some nuclear silos still rely on 8-inch floppies. I actually would not be shocked if there were some government agency that still relied on 3.5" floppies for something. Also, if you listen to media reports of Russian election interference and Putin's description of his new supposedly unstoppable nuclear weapons then cartoonishly evil Russians seem pretty reasonable too :).
But I get your point. This movie sounds like it would be a good candidate for Mystery Science Theater 3000. Your description is so bad it has made me want to see it. I'll wait until it's on Netflix though.
The US interferes in foreign elections all the time, many times by force. The Russian " election interference" is a joke. They used...wait for it.....
Facebook ads to sway the votes of the general public. They are literally going after internet trolls...
To think that anyone's opinion is swayed by viewing Facebook ads seems a little far-fetched.
The point that the author is making is that no-doubt Russia is a strong opponent with powerful nuclear capabilities, but that doesn't mean that we have to demonize them and make them an enemy of our country. Two strong nations can coexist peacefully, and that is what the people should desire.
I agree with you that that is what people should desire and for the most part is. I also agree with you about the supposed election interference. Hard to think of peace when they are announcing unstoppable nuclear weapons though.
A great candidate for an "R" rated version of Mystery Science Theater 3000 for sure!
