Interesting take. I never paid attention to trailer clicks. I agree that this film will likely do well. I think the initial ratings are being driven by the same fanboys who have been clicking the trailer. But I don't think it will drop significantly. Maybe high 7s when the dust settles. Maybe even 8.

IT trailrt clicks got headlines, very impressive headlines, it even passed Thor: Ragnarok in reviews numbers so it was a pretty big deal. I don't think that horror movies have funboys, I just don't think that that definition works. Rotten Tomatoes can be manipulated for the first few days and it was, started with 100% now it's an 88%. 90% liked it on the first weekend makes sense, people want to enjoy what they watched. On IMDB it has an 8.2, and it will drop below an 8 in the end. I think this movie will easily be the highest grossing horror movie of all time, it might even make it to half a billion. So far the highest grossing horror movie is The Exorcist with $441,306,145 (not adjusted for inflation).
