Gene did a solo nineties punk TTT post over at @geneeverett so I’m taking over and going solo today and going full Alt2k aka alt tunes from the 2000’s (Y2K). Picking tunes from 2004/2005/2006 🎹
First Up!
First tune is the song Staring at the Sun from the band TV On The Radio. From the first album Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty
Babes (2004) Part of the 2000’s alt scene that emerged early on in the 2000’s.
Second Up!
Next up is the classic alt y2k tune Banquet from the band Bloc Party. From 2005’s Silent Alarm record. The 2005 debut album from Bloc Party.
Third Up!
Next up is the following year 2006 and the song Gold Lion from the band the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s. Off the second Yeah Yeah Yeah’s record Show Your Bones there Econ’s record released in 2006. A band that came from the same New York City clubs as The Strokes in early 2000’s.
Bonus Tune!
From the same period as the tunes above it’s the band She Wants Revenge and a tune off there first record 2005’s self titled She Wants Revenge record. I go with the song Tear You Apart.
