It is a fantastic City and I love it! And due to the little rules they have, clubs can stay open as long as they want, at least some of them like Berghain (their parties sometimes run till Tuesday morning without any break from Saturday night). Best times for parties is usually Sunday morning/afternoon when the true music fans are on the dance floor and the tourist and the wannabes in bed or doing other things.
In Amsterdam we getting better regulations as well for parties. De School is for instance a techno club Berghain style, with a permit to stay open 24hrs a day. This week during Amsterdam Dance Event they will also run far into next Monday before they close their doors.
