And now for something different.

What's up everyone?

I decided to go a little off topic today.
I want to know your favorite bands! I know I'm typically showing videos with metal but I actually listen to a ton of different genres. I love metal, classic rock, rap, folksy kind of rock (I guess that's what it's considered), pretty much anything that sounds good, with the exception of country.
An Oklahoma boy that don't like country?!
Yep.

So here are a few bands I really love in a variety of genres.
Note: This is only a sliver of the wide variety of genres I enjoy

Brutal Death Metal:

Cattle Decapitation

These dudes are sick, if you like a real gore grind sort of brutal metal.

Guttural Secrete

Pig vocals galore.

Soreption

If you like metal but not necessarily the gore vocals, these dudes are tip top.

Metal honorable mentions:
Abnormity, Cerebral Paralysis, Splattered, Coprocephalic, Cerebral Bore, Viraemia.

Classic Rock:

Jackson Browne

Crosby Stills and Nash

So many beautiful songs.

Def Leppard

These dudes catch some unwarranted flack in my opinion. Great classic rockers.

Classic rock honorable mentions:
Journey, George Harrison, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Seger, Shocking Blue, INXS.

Rap:

Andre Nickatina

He does alot of work with Equipto who is also an amazing lyricist.

Mac Dre

Hands down favorite rapper of all time. Thizz in peace.

Rap honorable mentions:
Mystikal, STREETS, Kid Cudi, Busta Rhymes, Eminem.

Miscellaneous:

She's rad.

Lana Del Rey

Another extremely talented lady.

Band of Horses

I actually saw these guys live before I knew anything about them and they blew me away. I don't even like live music lol.

So, there you have it. These artists frequently occupy my ear holes because they're all so good at what they do.
I wasn't quite old enough to be super into the early 90's grunge scene but I appreciate it retroactively. And I do love 90's music from every genre as well. I'm pretty easy going with music, but if it's a band or genre I don't like, then I really don't like them lol.

What kind of music gets you guys going for the day?
What are some bands you would recommend?

Alright guys, it's time to get some chores done!
And tomorrow you'll see what I was busy doing on my rest day today :)
Have a great evening!

I would have thought Okie from Muskogee was your favorite song but if you don’t like country then I guess not. I don’t like listening to music in the morning or during workouts. I like listening to music while working on projects or at the end of the day to unwind. I like classic country and rock the most although I enjoy listening to every genre. For classic country, I am a California boy and I gotta say that Merle Haggard is my favorite singer/songwriter. Though I also really like Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. I think 90’s rock was the pinnacle of music and I like just about every band from back then. Currently my favorite rock bands are Seether, Imagine Dragons, and Twenty One Pilots.

Haha well if we're pickin a favorite from that genre then it would be Home Sweet Oklahoma by Leon Russel. I should have been more specific, I can get down with some classic country but not really anything produced in my lifetime.
That's interesting you don't like music during your workout, do you just find it distracting? I honestly zone out when I train but I think the music helps me zone out. I like that though, cause I just get laser focused on the workout. And yes, you just reminded me I heard an Imagine Dragons song for the first time recently and really liked it. I need to get some of their stuff.

I’ve never really gotten into modern country either. Yeah I find that listening to music during a workout pumps me up too much and is distracting. I prefer focusing in silence during a workout. I have been listening to Imagine Dragons for years after hearing some of their hit songs on the radio.
