Trance from The Netherlands

Veracocha - thanks Netherlands

Veracocha is a trance project by two Dutch producers called Ferry Corsten and Vincent de Moor. They produced some real HQ tunes so I think well worth to include them on a Dance Weekend post. Both had also solo success under various synonyms. As joint project they created this hymn "Carte Blanche" that has to be in every trance standard DJ set I sure all the experts agree. The song hit the public in 1999 and was remixed and re-released since then quite often. See some remixes below by Alex M.O.R.P.H and Cosmic Gate.

The duo also became famous by doing a fantastic remix of Ayla by Ayla:

Ferry Corsten

Ferry has been born in Rotterdam - the city of the real hardcore Techno I learned in the 1990ies - but he is a Trance guy and well known too for producing tracks under announced aliases like System F, Moorman, Gouryella and Pulp Victim. Currently he became a bit more commercial and broad in his electronic music style including more styles such as progressive house and plays the main events such as Tomorrowland. He even hosts his own weekly radio show called , Corsten's Countdown.

See him live playing in Belgium during Tomorrowland last year:

Get into his different music during the years by checking the following awesome mix including some of his works under different aliases. Ferry is for sure one of the best Trance producers of the last 20 years - maybe not as popular / knows as the likes of Armin van Buuren or Tiesto but he created timeless tunes especially in the Trance Space.

Vincent de Mor

Vincent is also a true trance pioneer. Being modest he created also a lot via his solo paths. His main solo success has been Fly Away which he produced in 2001 and reached #30 in the UK charts:

One does not know a lot about his private life - there is no single interview with him available. He is not active in the music scene anymore but seem to enjoy consuming it and also the fact a lot people love to listen to his ground breaking pioneer tracks - a compilation of his works below:

Great post! These tracks take me back to the good times.

Unfortunately they don't make tracks like that these days. The late 90's and early 2000's were the golden years of trance music.

Touching the Netherlands now! Nice! :)

Carte Blanche, Ayla und AVB das ist ein richtig guter Post für alle Trance Freunde. Well done Uwe :-) Wird gleich resteemed :-)

In my view, no producer has pushed the trance music forward more than Ferry.Great mix. Thanks, mate! @uwelang

3rd video. 5 stars from me! One of my most-listened tracks of all time.

4th video: I can't believe I watched/listened to this entire show quite a few times already. I wish I was there

outstanding music. thanks for sharing enjoyable post. i like your post and following.

Techno can be categorized. Trance is from Europe. Techno is from Detroit. House is Chicago. Also if you label it as EDM your new to the scene and listening what the public has labeled it as. also Gouryella for your information is actually DJ Teisto. What they label progressive house is another name of trance. Hard Style is hard house started back in the 90's Its the new kids that want to give it a new name to make it popular. DEMF is what underground techno is all about. Tomorrowworld and land is a copy of DEMF. Take a look at all the new to the scene DJ's out there, NO SKILL. Where are your headphones to balance out the BPM.

@uwelang

Techno is from Detroit! lol - that must be a joke. Please do your research - Gouryella was originally a Dutch production team, comprising Corsten and Tiësto, who later left.

I did DJ in the late 1980ies so calling me new to the scene is interesting. You want to have fun and enjoy some music or be a teacher - calm down and enjoy - show us your skills and music!

I will investigate this. Thank you

Sure my friend - in Detroit they started sth like first House with tracks like this in 1988:

Techno had various streams of origin, mainly from Europe - #Kraftwerk influenced most of it at the end of the 1970ies / earlier 80ies - also some sounds along the synth area via UK like Depeche Mode or New Order.

I think you were stumbling on a Google Search I just did as well with some Wikipedia entries around Detroit Techno - so no worries - that might have been when the US picked up the music from Europe.

Let us have fun now with it.

Thank you for your kindness. You deserve the greatest votes. I wish I could and I can support you
