I did and I still stand with the fact that many, like yourself, seem to have a negative perception about ads. But in my opinion, it is the best way to go now that the pool is red and we are all fighting for our damn lives! We cannot depend on the reward pool. Fresh investment need to get into the system. Yes, steemmonster is doing a great job in creating an avenue where fiat money is being pumped into the steem blockchain. The venture is worth +$1m. That amount would have tripled if they had those ads functions. And like many apps do, there are options for those who do not want to see those annoying ads on their screen--they pay. How much of your earning are you willing to part with?

I understand your points regarding the rewards pool. Ned is already considering Ads, he's weighing the options available. You probably wouldn't know though, not having Ads was one of Steemit's unique selling point that set it apart from other social networks when it was launched. If they are to back on that, there'll be adverse effects.
I used Utopian.io while they were taking 25% as beneficiary rewards. I wouldn't mind a cut from my rewards.
We both want what is best for the platform, but hold contrary views.
