What are the copyright issues when you are recreating someone else's painting?

There are numerous copies of famous paintings like Mona lisa,Last supper etc around the world. Can anyone recreate one and sell it ??
During painting classes the particular painting we were thought was found all over the internet in many places, in many FB art groups etc .No particular persons name was attatched to it. Is that right ???

Copyright laws differ from country to country. But you can take your brush and easel and recreate a Rembrandt and even sell it as long as you don't pretend it is a Rembrandt :)

You can recreate someone else painting for personal use which is legal but it becomes illegal when you

recreated the painting and put it up for sell....recreating someone else painting and selling it is against the copyright law and you will definitely face copyright

issues....but if you seek the permission of the original owner and he or she approves it and gives you the right to recreate the painting and sell it then that is when you

can be free from copyright issues.....so be on the safe side just seek permission from the original owner of the painting before you re-create it and sell it or use it for personal use....goodluck....

None at all. Just do it!
