It wasn't too long ago when the Internet was not part of our life. With no Internet, there is no search engines and no immediate access to information. To know more or research on a topic, I would visit the local Library. Information will only be available from books and encyclopaedias.
If there is not Internet, there would be no social media. To get connected with friends, I would need to go out and meet up with people. I may not be able to meet to many of my friends regularly, and over time, I may get disconnected with them. And I would not have the chance to know more people outside of my country. Social media provides the platform to know people without the distance boundary and I think that is great.
With no Internet there will be no instant messenger. But there is still SMS, which doesn't require Internet to function. But I will be back to paying outrageous 5 cents per SMS.
