RE: I am not the problem child, Mom.

Thank you @laurabell for sharing your healing journey with us all. I really believe that we are empowering others when we do this. Writing is such a wonderful way to release emotions and to also help us understand when we have been through. So many of us suffer with our mental health and it is something we need to talk about more. You have been through so much and your inner reflection and learning is so powerful to read. You have delved so deep and recognized how our childhoods really set the stage for us in later life, how important it is to be respectful towards our children and ourselves, so that they then can recognize this and embrace it into their own lives. You are healing many generations of suffering! thank you once again for sharing this with us.

Thank you so much. Just hearing people being able to relate and understand my story -- without feeling shame --- is so powerful for me. I just am really grateful to be here on HIVE. I am healing generational suffering, as I am sure you are as well! Doesn't it feel so horrible (or delightful?) to progress forward and evolve?

Both of those and more. There's been good, bad and everything in between. I deal with them new each day, intermingled with those of the past, sprinkled with a little anticipation for the future.

They each affect me differently throughout my timeline, even the same events remembered over different periods of time. I've gotten to the point where 'it simply is what it is' and come out the other side better, usually. More so as I age, I think.

I have my path, which will take me to the destination, regardless of what comes at me along it.
