The mountains can be so seductively peaceful sometimes, it’s easy to forget how quickly that can change. Something to keep in mind as we travel though life. Not a breath of wind at Berg Lake for blue hour on the first night after we had hiked up there. From an altitude of 1,646 m (5,400 ft) the North Face of Mt Robson rises a further 2308m (7572m) out of the lake to a total height of 3,954 m (12,972 ft). Robson is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Mount Robson Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada. Yes that is a little iceberg floating in the lake. The shot was taken with a Canon EOS 6D Mark II with a Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM at ISO 800, at 16.0 mm, f/5, and 25s exposure time.

Such a great shot of Berg Lake!
Trekking in the Himalaya was an adventure, a challenge that allowed me to discover where are my limits and to see how far I can push myself. This is a photo I took while I was walking slower than my guide, I was suffering a lot but the view was worth the pain.
Location: the Himalayan ranges, Nepal
This was the sunset over Monte Fitz Roy when I was hiking back to the village of El Chaltén in Argentinian Patagonia.
Incredible! I've been there too, it's rare to see Fitz Roy without the clouds covering its top.
I was lucky right? :) That's why it's called "Chaltén", the smoke/mist shrouded peak!
Hiking in the Rockies yields all sorts of weather. Even in the summer (this photo) you can get a dump of snow that makes everything wet and slushy.
Thanks for the contest!

I was thinking of this, haha..

Saw this on the winners post - just wanted to say "what a cool idea!"
Cheers from the top of Looking Glass Rock. The 6 miles and 1,689 ft vertical gain are worth it.
Torres del Paine - Chile
This is Torres del Paine. Back in summer 2017 I hitchhiked Patagonia including the end of the world, Ushuaia. Carying only the essentials in my backpack during 62 days I visited many crazy places and important montains along the Andes. This place in particular caught my attention, I was thinking about that lonely house. Would you live there? How would you handle solitude?
This picture was taken in Bosnia and Herzegovina, city Trebinje. Leotar mountan.
This was taken while on a drive through switzerland. Made it to a nice pass and hung out there for sunset... i was not disappointed!
Beautiful

Traversing the Chief Mountain summit ridge in the evening glow. This mountain is located in Glacier National Park, Montana. This was one of my favorite climbs of last summer. :)
Great perspective. I feel like I can (and want to) join you on the hike.
This fantastic mountain surrounds Lake Seealpsee, in Switzerland. This is a spectacular place where you can breathe fresh air.
I was in Brackendale photographing the eagle congregation on the Sqamish River one day. When I turned around I noticed Diamond Head against the blue sky. I normally like the sky broken up with some fluffy cumulus clouds, however I think this works.
Taken on a warm day right before sunset, miss those days, it's so cold now :D
Italy, lago di fusine
Can you add the location, please?
done

This is from my early days in trekking, Himachal's Village Kalga a beautiful place where you can stare at high peaks and enjoy the nature. I still go there and miss it more everytime when I come back.
Yay Mountain Monday! :D
This photo is becoming one of my favourites from the Rockies (subject to change without notice).
A beautiful pink sunrise at Two Jack Lake, in Banff National Park, Alberta.
Oooooohhhh. Love the colors!!
Thank you! :)
Wow Beautiful. These mountains are on my bucket list.
As well they should be. There are no other mountain ranges like this on our continent that I know of. :)

Hey, that wasn't from when we were all there, was it??
It sure was. I flirted with them older ladies and we got invited up to their room. I feel bad though because I lost the ladies email address to send photos too.
Oh no!
So...where was I? Standing on that same porch not taking this picture, apparently, haha. Nice one!
I'm pretty sure we were all lined up taking the same photo....or listening to grandma swear up and down how Donald Trump was gonna be, and needed to be president, and how she'd invite us to her cabin. Haha
Well, her predictive powers were at last half right! Hehe. Maybe I just never processed my photo from here.
this is a little peace of one of the many mountains of the Altai in Russia, which emerges through a crystal clear lake, height of 2600 meters, a photo I made during a two-week tracking in 2017, enjoy)
So interesting, I spent some time looking at the gorgeous mountains in that area. What a wonderful trek it must have been.
Clicked this picture at Schwabachers landing in Wyoming. It was very windy that day and I got almost lucky for a second, to click the picture of the mountains and their reflection in the water.
I love the Tetons!
Yeah, me too. :)
Yeah, it's Tahoe City, but it's in the mountains and you can see mountains in the distance. This was photographed from a tiny experimental class Kitfox seaplane with the door removed. A happy photo client decided to offer me a flight in his fun little plane as a bonus for a job well done. I of course accepted!
The Grand Tetons are my favorite mountains and today I present them in Black and White for Mountain Monday. This is at Oxbow Bend with Mount Moran sitting majestically over the Snake River.
Panorama of Broken Top Mountain in the Three Sisters Wilderness. The Three Sisters name comes from the 3 mountains on the right side in this shot, South, Middle, and North Sister mountains. This part of Oregon is filled with crazy volcanic terrain and is one of my favorite areas for backcountry hiking.
