I agree with almost everything that you wrote and my initial reaction would have been to "tell him off"!

I actually discussed his "case" with my family and they too were of the "how dare he" sentiment.

I decided instead to get him to reason and hopefully this time it will help produce an active, happy user.

Perhaps two tactics or two approaches from two different personalities and I can't write that I would find fault with either.

You also do a great job mentoring, encouraging, supporting and helping Steem to succeed!

I had the same reaction too @onceuponatime and @kus-knee. I recently posted about how I gained traction on STEEMIT, from New Year's to New Year's (HOWTO Get Attention on STEEMIT without PISSING PEOPLE OFF! 😱)!

From my comment to him:

It took me 6 months on the platform posting away just to reach 50 followers, and I had strings of zero payout posts before I finally started gaining a bit of traction.

How'd you feel getting a string of $ZERO$ post payouts like this? Yet, I kept on trucking forward, interacting with the community, writing thoughtful comments on other people's posts, and always posting content that I felt passionate about. Often, early on, some of my comments would earn more than many of my posts, combined! lol
