I think the US and Iran did a good job in sabotaging Iran, its nuclear efforts and its imperialistic efforts.
However, I think that they erred badly when they overthrew Saddam.
He was not supporting Islamic Terror, opposed Iran and took Iraq for a war against Iran in 1980-1988, and while he used WMDs in the past against Kurd uprisings and against Iran in their wars, I think that he was not a big problem for either the US or Israel.
His fall turned Iraq into a Shi'ite controlled state, a proxy of Iran which is worse for US, Israel and Saudia.
Now the Irani empire spans from its borders with Pakistan and Afghanistan in the east, to the middle east mediterranean shores of Lebanon and Syria in the west.
It also includes a part of Yemen which is continentally separated from the rest.
Iraq is in the midst of it.
A part of the Irani Shi'ite empire.
Is it better than Saddam's rule in Iraq?
I think the Kurds profited most out of this new situation.
They did not cause it, but they did and still do their part in Syria, Iraq and Turkey.
A Kurdish state is a good thing IMO, but Turkey will try its hardest to prevent it, and Iraq, Syria and Iran want to prevent it too.
Only the Kurds themselves, Israel and possibly the US would welcome a Kurdish state.
The Kurds are being used in this, they are not the driver behind it all since they have no strong lobby in the US.
In Iraq they are (or were until ISIS' fall) allied with Iran against DAISh.
In Syria they might have been initially allied with Israel and the US, but now I think they are more allied with Assad's regime against Turkey, which is a bigger threat for them than Assad's regime itself.
In Iran they are very few and know they have no chance there, so they remain dormant.
In Turkey they are the PKK.
Back to Iran, a war against it will not cause Oil prices to spike, but to jump and stay high.
In a case of a war, Iran will probably export only to China and it may be prevented even from doing so.
Iran will also bomb oil wells in a scorched earth effort that will cost a lot.
I wonder how much the despots of Saudia want a war against Iran.
They hate Iran but they also fear the consequences.
They already fight a proxy war against Iran in Yemen and recently lost in Syria after they already lost in Iraq.
