RE: NFTMart - Hive's NFT Market - Just Choose, Click & Checkout

in #nftmart4 years ago

That's a shame. You could have learned something from opensea.io.

As well as the myriad of nft marketplaces on ETH struggling for differentiation.

It makes sense as a project for Dcity -- in that there is a separate market for Splinterlands trades as well.

I just think the whole HIVE NFT experience could have been a lot more powerful with a "Both And" Vision of NFTs on HIVE, instead of a "We're easier and don't use SWAP Hive and we have DCity."

I'm sure you have a marketplace value because you are providing something useful for the Dcity players -- and I wish you well, but just -- as an outsider, I wish there was a more coherent NFT Vision for HIVE, because I feel like that would have been a stronger market presence.

"We're like Opensea - but for HIVE"

Is a stronger position, in my opinion.

It's like all of these artists are pimping NFTShowroom --

And you come along second place, and you're like -- "No, us. + We've got Dcity."

Not a marketing move I would have designed -- but respect to you and your project.

I just think cryptoart is going to have a difficult enough time combatting with ETH v. HIVE in the long term.

You at least have the advantage of functionality and an existing user base. I hope that works out for you.

Cheers.

That would be a shame 😂

NFTMart will be Hive's one stop shop for buying, selling, and trading NFTs

DCity is just the opening market. While we aren't setting a vision for NFTs on Hive, we are setting the vision that NFTs on Hive should be easier to use. Easier to create, easier to buy, easier to sell. We are working toward that. DCity is popularly traded and makes sense as the first NFT offering

Having opensea.io for Hive is a good way of expressing what we are doing with this. I fully encourage you to be skeptical and let us know what NFTMart should add next. Really appreciate the feedback!

Nice to meet you - I am more associated with the artists on NFTShowroom.

I know they are trying hard to make that a place for NFTs on HIVE - and it just seemed like it would be easier to have a synergistic marketing / outreach effect, if there was a singular destination for NFTs on HIVE.

But I"m not a dev.

I also think there are too many NFT projects on ETH.

Glad you all are nice, and open to discussion. That's a cool thing to see.

Thanks for commenting, and best to your launch.

NFT Showroom is awesome! We love what they're doing and hope to support it in the future. NFT Showroom is specifically for trading and collecting art. Opensea (and NFTMart as it grows) have NFTs for games and whatever else in addition to art. Much like opensea.io, NFTMart doesn't create the NFTs, make the art showrooms, or design the games. We're just a place to buy and sell these things.

@nachofigx is very happy that you mentioned opensea.io 😄

It is our hope that making things easier will provide exactly the kind of synergy between markets and creators needed to help grow NFTs on Hive. For opensea.io, there is a definition on chain for NFTs that it can utilize. As Hive solutions are either Hive Engine or proprietary, it will take more effort to do and can't be simply done for all NFT types at once. If the super smart guys get NFTs directly on Hive, then we'll have those for sale on NFTMart too :)

As long as you figure out how to sell NFTs minted on NFTShowroom, -- Then you would be like opensea for hive.

Hello, I am part of the team, and that idea of being the OpenSea for Hive, its something that takes time and effort, we are starting with one project, but we really want to open our platform for as many Hive projects as we can, right now we have been contact by other games intersted on our market, sure we will need to be open to what the community needs, I am sure we will get there, just give us some time and your feedback is very welcome! NFTs are the next thing and we are part of this evolution.

Yep. Thank you.

I'm no dev, so I'm not sure what the details are for creating a project like opensea.

I know that they have some sort of development kit, but I'm also not sure how that translates from ETH to HIVE.

Either way -- I'm glad that you're connecting with other games -- that ought to be great.

I'd personally like to see Splinterlands, Dcity and Cryptoart all on the same marketplace.

But, Splinterlands has an older marketplace, and I believe Aggroed worked to design the NFTShowroom -- I have inquiried about whether or not those might be combined in the future, and I think they may be.

I would have just imagined that it would be easier to piggyback on a project, rather than start your own project. but I'm sure you have reasons for doing what you're doing.

Thanks for being open to discussion / input -- and for being kind.

Have a good evening.

Actually, we thought to promote ourselves as "The OpenSea - But for Hive", but we wanted to wait and see if the community would detect that, so yea we want to reach that, and add new features over time. So let's do it together!

Well, as I mentioned -- HIVE totally needs a coherent Marketplace for its games.

You ought to see what you can do about absorbing Splinterlands.

I just see a great deal of momentum for #cryptoart already with NFTShowroom, -- so I think you're kind of behind the ball on that one. But, I hope that you're able to figure out a way to work things out for multiple games / projects on HIVE -- that would be stellar.

Lol you mad..

Selling resources for games makes more sense than trying to get tokens for memes(pretending to be art).

You'll realise as time passes that this formula here has a bigger future because as you've pointed out it could be implemented to any already existing game or yet to be created game.

NFTshowbroom needs people to actually buy with emotion for support for the artist rather than for something that they can actually utilize in a game.
