Other Niche Communities Curation Report #1615

OCD's support is expanding!

Hello everyone! This is the 1615th compilation post of OCD's latest curation efforts. It has been known that OCD has been supporting leading niche communities under its Community Incubation Program. However, there are still a lot of other niche communities not supported by OCD. This curation initiative will help in supporting those communities.

This newest curation effort aims to encourage authors to post in appropriate communities even if those communities are not under the incubation program. This will also encourage users to explore more into the different communities in Hive.

How this Works

OCD curators and community leaders will find posts from other niche communities and recommend them for an upvote. Unlike those communities in the incubation program where curation is focused, this curation initiative is spread out. This will help find undervalued posts from smaller communities that deserve support.

This will highlight both the author and the community where the post is located. This way, smaller niche communities can focus on growing their subscribers and increasing the engagements within their respective communities. A small boost goes a long way.

Speaking of boost, here are the curated posts for this batch:

A Guide To You

I put off writing this for a while. I needed to make sure my thoughts were right and that meant I had to think about it critically. Practising minimalism in the barest of ways has been a concept that has been with me for as long as I can remember. Or at least, for as long as I could actively identify that that was what I was doing.

It’s almost difficult drafting minimalism into these five guidelines. But somehow the sub-concepts of minimalism are interwoven. So at the end of the day, I found my answers. For everyone who practises minimalism or has ever thought to practice it, these are my five most profound rules for it.

Actívate creando Tarjetas para mamá, pintadas y hechas con cartón.Get active creating cards for mom, painted and made with cardboard.

I am happy to be able to participate for the first time in these community initiatives and I love this one because it is dedicated to mothers.

It came to me like a glove since I have many friends who are moms and I decided to make them with love some cards using cardboard as a base since I have many cuttings, so I invite you to join me and see the procedure and if you like and encourage you, you can also make and give as a gift since they are not difficult to make and if you do not do well painting, you can do with flower prints, cut, paste and decorate, everything is to put a little creativity and you will see that if you can.

Silk PLA Miniature Test

Silk PLA is interesting stuff. The presentation is amazing, much better in person than what I can show with my cell phone photography skills. This has a blend of blue, green, and orange that takes on a coppery hue. I like it. This also seems a bit more flexible and resilient to bending than the more brittle Dremel-branded PLA, so that may offer some benefits. The spool was also very well wound, and I had zero binding or tangling issues despite the jury-rigged feed system I had to use.

However, I am unimpressed with its behavior for anything functional. I've had some issues with layers not adhering and models splitting despite looking like a solid print. It also swells almost to the original 1.75mm diameter shortly after extruding from the 0.4mm hot end nozzle whenever I change filament or clear a clog. It doesn't seem to affect the printed model, but I wouldn't trust it for anything requiring dimensional precision. Finally, it just feels more fragile, though I haven't done anything scientific to actually test its resistance to being crushed.

Nos vamos a la Feria del Turismo

The phone rings, I have to talk to you, and after a yes as an answer it all began. I couldn't say anything else, because when it comes to talking about the beach, even for work, I'm there like the first one. And well, nothing special, today I start this series of videos of what was my experience, stay if you want to relive it with me.

Sending you a virtual hug.

Comment whatever you want, I will love to read you 😉

My Funny Valentine - For Trombone 🎺 By YSJ 🩺

It is the first performance I do with my own instrument, although it has an enormous sentimental value for me, since it has accompanied me since my first steps in music, this trombone has some defects that make difficult the execution of it...

The stick is bent, so I have to exert a little more strength to play a piece of music... Unfortunately I had to give the other trombone, because it was not my property but of my musical nucleus, and since I have almost not been able to attend because I am daily in the hospital, they claimed the instrument from me....

🙃 HIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL 82 round 1 - ''Camilo - Autodiagnostico'' cover by YUSAYMON 🙃

It's quite funny how I ended up singing this song; I really don't have the voice to imitate Camilo, haha! I always remember Led Varela's explanation about Camilo XD. It's true that his voice is unique and has very distinctive tones. Although I tried hard to interpret this song. I had heard it on YouTube a few days ago and thought, "I'll include it in the Hive Music Festival 82 ROUND 1."

For me, Camilo is an artist with a very particular style. It's not just his voice, but also his way of composing and conveying emotions through his songs. When I tried to sing one of his songs, I realized how difficult it is to capture his essence. But at the same time, it was fun and challenging.

Led Varela always has a unique way of explaining things. His comments about Camilo are cool and very entertaining. I can imagine his gestures and enthusiasm when describing those distinctive styles that characterize the singer.

The Hive Music Festival is always my safe place. I'm excited to be participating in it every week. I'm sure that adding this song to my repertoire will give it a special touch. Music is a powerful way to connect our whole community and express our present.

So, even though I don't have Camilo's voice, my interpretation will surely have its own charm. And who knows! Maybe I'll manage to surprise everyone with a unique and personal version of that song at the festival.

LOH #184: My Most Cherished Chapter!

Motherhood is one of the most special moments that ever happened in my life. Perhaps it is an opening to a beautiful chapter that brought me so many priceless memories from the time my baby was still in my womb until he has now grown up into a very good son.

And that, I am thankful to dear @trucklife-family for the wonderful question this week as I chose to share the first question that goes:

Motherhood is both rewarding and challenging. What has been one of your greatest lessons since becoming a mother?

Time indeed has its wings that make everything happen in a glimpse of an eye. How time flies so fast that my son is now turning 11 years old. And that, I am finding myself reflecting on my wonderful journey as a mother that has been filled not only with precious moments but as well as with several challenges.

Tripping down memory lane, he was still in my womb way back in 2012 and I gave birth to him in June 2013. And here is my pregnancy photo back then as I took a selfie and captured my baby bump while I was in my room at my parent's house.

But, in this opportunity I show you an easy and cute idea that can get you out of some trouble and you will manage to surprise with this chocolates card✨🌷

Como convertimos un departamento alquilado en un hogar ❤️ // How we turned a rented apartment into a home ❤️ [ES/EN]

Normally, people don't want to invest in rental apartments because they think it's a waste of money since the house isn't theirs, and when they leave, they're essentially giving their efforts away to someone else. But I don't see it that way. For me, it's very important to feel comfortable and to make a house a home. When we rent, we're paying for a space for ourselves, so putting it in good condition is an act of love towards ourselves as well.

Viendo la luz después de días de muchísimo estrés ( esp/eng)

Greetings and good evening friends of the @catarsis community. I think this is the second time I write in this community and the truth is that Hive always has everything for everyone, and of course, a community where you can talk, write and vent a little about what affects us in our lives and our environment. For some time now I have been getting sick frequently, at first I did not pay much attention to the matter (something very typical of those of us who work as health professionals, not taking care of our own health). The fact is that because of my job I am exposed to biological risk since I work with equipment that may be in contact with patients infected with bacteria or who knows what pathogenic agent, added to that my immune defenses are far from being the most optimal for a long time. Of the many times I got sick recently, this last one practically triggered a beginning of pneumonia, I managed to get a pneumonologist specialist to check me and I was able to treat me in time, but I was close to getting very complicated. I knew things were not going well when I realized that while singing, I was running out of air very easily. I am now quite recovered, however I am still under treatment, but thank God everything is in order for me.
