Other Niche Communities Curation Report #496

OCD's support is expanding!

Hello everyone! This is the 496th compilation post of OCD's latest curation efforts. It has been known that OCD has been supporting leading niche communities under its Community Incubation Program. However, there are still a lot of other niche communities not supported by OCD. This curation initiative will help in supporting those communities.

This newest curation effort aims to encourage authors to post in appropriate communities even if those communities are not under the incubation program. This will also encourage users to explore more into the different communities in Hive.

How this Works

OCD curators and community leaders will find posts from other niche communities and recommend them for an upvote. Unlike those communities in the incubation program where curation is focused, this curation initiative is spread out. This will help find undervalued posts from smaller communities that deserve support.

This will highlight both the author and the community where the post is located. This way, smaller niche communities can focus on growing their subscribers and increasing the engagements within their respective communities. A small boost goes a long way.

Speaking of boost, here are the curated posts for this batch:

Market Friday: Palengke Ni Juan

Why wet market? Well, derived from the word "wet" itself, vendors and other market workers clean the entire area by regularly spraying or pouring water on the the market floors to keep it clean. Vendors do sell fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, seafoods and meat (chicken, pork, beef, goat) in an outdoor open-air setting. They also sell other dry goods like clothing, kitchenware, house and garden tools, other housewares, toys, even plants and flowers and many others. There are many wet markets here in the Philippines and very corner of the nation has one at least.

Postcards from the Edge - Bringing some Old School Back to Life

I always used to love receiving letters, postcards and parcels. I think we all do. There’s something cool about having something physically delivered just to you ( except bills of course ). Being an old school traveler from way back postcards were something I not only used to love to send back from my travels but also loved receiving from friends around the globe.

My supermom, she means the world to me.

Sometimes when I think about how life is unfair to me, I quickly remind myself that it hasn’t been fair to anyone either and whenever it takes something away from you, it compensates you with something but sometimes we are too bitter about what was taken and we turn blind eyes towards what it was replaced with.

StreetArt Around Old Street and some cool London pictures [April 2022]

I haven't done this in a long time mainly because since I moved I don't have the chance to be around Old Street and Shoreditch that much, I used to live there in the past and taking pictures of new graffiti it was something as easy as doing it on the way back from work every day 😁

FUNGIFRIDAY : Xeromphalina, Microporus, and Marasmiellus Ramealis

When Friday comes, as usual I will share some photos of mushrooms, and talk about mushrooms that I share this time are some old files that are in my laptop and my smartphone gallery, and this week I'm not hunting mushrooms, because of some busyness that makes me not have time to go looking for some mushroom discoveries new.

fighting, planning and more cleaning; mid-april garden journal (Eng/Spa)

One of the cleanups I had to do was to remove an old and dry log that I had next to a wall of my house, and most of the other dry logs that were scattered around the garden. The problem was that some ants (termite-like) started to make a nest there, and were spreading into the house, making paths between the walls. When I inspected carefully I noticed that there was more than one place with this problem, and although I know that they are living beings that deserve to be here as much as I do, I was very concerned that it would become a major problem, since by opening their paths between the walls, they could weaken the structure and already in my house I have many problems of leaks and others that require a large investment to repair and of course I can not let it continue to deteriorate. Therefore I had to do an emergency cleaning.

Chanthaburi - Visiting Dugong Market 🇹🇭

The local market is one of my favorite places to visit while I travel. And I'm so lucky for this trip because my hotel is located near the Market. The Dugong market is just only 1.2 kilometers walk and is worthwhile making.

I tell you my experience with the Samsung Galaxy A12 phone [ENG/ESP]

Hello to all the Geek Zone community! This time I will be sharing with you all my first content in the community, where I will be telling you about my experience with my new Samsung Galaxy A12 phone. I haven't had the device for a long time, but in three months I have been able to visualize the quality of it.

Another day, another Ice Cream!

For a bit of background (LOL) I know I've written this multiple times but, my daughter's absolute favorite thing to eat after school is, well, ice cream (surprise!)and, since today she had her first "show and tell" at school, I wanted to reward her with a special kind of ice cream, kind of for her to know that hard work pays out, and, she did amazing! She had to talk about her grandparents' names.

🌎Photo collage, Earth day special | Lifestyle 💚

Today is earth day and every day is earth day, in this post I share with you some photographs that inspire me to be connected with natural spaces and mother earth, these photographs are of some special moments, what I wish is to commemorate how great our planet is through my memories. 🍃

Beaches, country houses, walks in cities, the earth shows us her incredible strength and beauty in every space; valuing what we have and learning to take care of her is a challenge for all of us.
