These days I've been leaving work late because they've implemented some new rules and now you have to do more inventory than usual, so I didn't really feel like doing my makeup on my day off, I just wanted to lie around and have everything brought to bed hahahahahah.

There must be many people who experience a feeling of refreshment and feel healthy and happy when choosing to garden to relieve boredom or stress. I have a small garden on a hillside that is just as small. My daily meals are pretty much supplemented by vegetables that I grow. It's not too diverse with different vegetables but I try to make use of the meager land to maximize as many plants as possible. Exactly wherever there is space I try to add any other plants even though it doesn't bring much benefit like food or landscaping.

Had a date with a friend of mine at a local flower exhibition last Friday. It was an impromptu one as my friend randomly asked me on a Thursday evening if I was interested to go. She got carried away halfway through the message and only manage to reply to my message at 2 am. 😂 Friday was the only available day left for us and we decided to go on Friday morning itself.

There isn't really much to boast about my container garden, as some of you might have read that we had a bad start of Spring this year. All the newbie plants from the garden center were almost devastated when we were visited by one freezing night. That weather affected the growth of all my container plants until now.

I have to say that Arni has always been a fascinating and very special personality for me. In fact, he was born only a few kilometers as the crow flies from here, where I am sitting right now and where I also grew up.He was born in the Graz area, in the small town of Thal, and so he was always seen as a Grazer and Styrian. And that is exactly what fascinated me so much! Out of this small nest into the big world, Mister Universe, movie star, governor, marry into the Kennedy family

I have told you before that I am a doctor, but perhaps many do not know that I am a specialist in Geriatrics and Gerontology, and in my specialty one of the diseases that I treat the most are the group of dementias such as Alzheimer's disease.

This bittersweet one is the slow end of summer and the transition to autumn. Autumn is one of the best times of the year to live in New England that's for sure but one thing that's sad for me is the gradual decline in the amount of daylight that we get per day. With me working from home I get far better access than I ever did before to do some fishing but you can't beat time eventually!

In twenty-five years of fishing (s#&t time flies) I've never tried artificial lures. Back then, when I was into fishing competitions, capturing natural baits and preparing them beforehand meant winning or loosing. Truth is: our coast is not appropriate for artificial lures and capturing earthworm or carrying a piece of animal fat for freshwater fish was always cheaper.

I recently visited the historic city of New Westminster and walked along the pier that follows the delta of the Fraser river. This area of the city is relatively new in comparison to the downtown district on the other side of the tracks. It's a long stroll down the river, which is why I decided to write three parts about this riverside hike. In the first part, I wrote about the history and showed some of the sights along the boardwalk. In this second part, I focus on the different plants that are found along the way. I thought this fine community would appreciate the horticultural mix.
