The pace of technological development has become uncontrollable, especially after the 2000s because of the growth of NICTs that facilitated this development and made the information not monopolized by a country or a society.
In my opinion, the elements mentioned in the article can be divided into means of communication, means of space research and means of transport.
With regard to the means of communication:
The spectacular development of Telecommunications especially last two decades is related to two main vectors of transmission: wired and wireless. New communication methods result, linked to the Internet and to the "convergence" between IT, audio-visual and networks, on the one hand, to the use of the means of communication in situations of mobility of other share. The technologies currently available have greatly facilitated these developments: ADSL and fiber optics for wired networks, Wi-Fi, UMTS and LTE for mobile telephony.
What about space research?
In view of the need of countries for the exploitation of space and the opportunity offered by space technologies in response to political and economic challenges including:

investing in the knowledge economy to strengthen economic growth;
environmental and safety control;
Defense and security;
Research and innovation;
Poverty alleviation and development aid.
These elements are taken from the White Paper on European Space Policy.

In relation to the means of transport

Economists point out that a point of growth in world GDP represents 1.5 points of increase in air traffic.
The 1200 km / h train can go in 2020.

Increasing demand from resource users will surely have a positive impact on competition between the companies providing the transport services and also on the quality, which will impact the strategies of the producers of the means of transport and carry out research and innovations in the development of their products.

In this context of spectacular development and its pace, it seems difficult to consider how the items exposed in the article will evolve.
