Norwegian National Broadcasting forces us to pay to watch a random couple have sex on TV

in #norway7 years ago

In a new television show they are seeking a real "normal" couple, as they describe it, to have sex on TV. The argument is that they're going to show us how "normal" sex looks like.

But it feels sort of obscure and bizarre to be forced to pay for this. They are forcing us to pay them to show sex on TV, basically.

It's not that I find sex on TV offensive. They could never show anything that offended me. But I'm sort of offended that I'm forced to pay for pornography.

wow.. that's interesting...

OMG, that is so very interesting. How degrading for Norwegians! After all, if you want to watch that you can get it for free all over the internet - porn sites are so popular. Why can't "they" come up with something erudite or beneficial that respect the psyche of the Norwegians??? I am so so sorry to read this. I was looking at the Daily Mail the other day (OK - my bad) and I even saw advertised some crappy reality TV in which young men and women were almost having it in public online and I wondered what our society is coming to. Terrible to hear that this is in Norway, too. Resteemed.

Oh - and this is Norway so you might like my very short post about it:

"After all, if you want to watch that you can get it for free all over the internet - porn sites are so popular". The entire point of the series is to show what "normal" sex is, and how it is very different from porn.

Its more the fact that you're forced to sponsor shit like that. I understand their incentive in a way, that it is for "educational" purposes. But its still very offencive to me to be forced to pay watching other people have sex.

Why would people need to watch "normal" sex on TV. Pretty sure anybody can have it in the privacy of their bedrooms. Such a sorry excuse to sell sex... (Your post made my wonder why do I even pay cable TV since nobody watches in my house. We either watch online or download what we want to see.)

Even as a 11 year old kid i understood that porn was not real.

I would rather pay for this then to forcefully pay the BBC an annual TV licence fee to better the lifestyle of thier talentless entertainers and presenters.

We do that too. Trust me

The radio taxes in Europe have always bothered me. I don't know how it works in Norway, but when I moved to Germany they would charge you based on how many TVs, radios, computers, and internet connected devices you have. I think it's a flat rate now.

I've always wondered about issues like the one that you've brought up. What happens to people who are fundamentally opposed to what's being broadcast? If you think TV is evil incarnate, should you be forced to support it with your money?

No of course not. They belive they are serving people with quality tv..and most people repeat that mantra. But when youre redpilled its just nonsense. They dont report on anything important. News are just death murder rape. And documentaries are boring non juicy stuff. If they did a good job they would report on stuff like cryptos, steemit, and actually educating people away from the chains of school system , wrong thinking, money management. All the stuff that people dont have a clue about and which is inhibiting their lifes and hapiness. But their agenda just seems to be the usual propaganda about the welfare state and the diverse society.

The part I disagree with is that they force you to pay for the privilege of TV that, at best, is TV that you're not interested in. At worst, it's TV that you believe is having a negative impact on society.

How do they charge you in Norway? Do they charge everyone a flat fee? Do you pay directly to them, or is it included in other taxes?

In Germany, there was a separate company or government group (not sure of their status). They would send you bills and send people over to look in your windows to count how many TVs you have. I lived in apartments and never answered the door while I lived there.

Right now you have to pay a fee twice a year if you own a tv. Luckily its not nescesarry to have a tv to watch hbo or netflix or even nrk. (Not that i watch nrk anyway) but the ruling party has suggested a flat tax for every citizen through the tax system. Its currently being paid directly to them. They have a "swat team" that comes kbocking on your door every now and then. There has been stories about them just walking into peoples homes. My brother experienced that. He was watching tv and all of a sudden an unknown person was standing in his livingroom..
