One thing I always do when an event like this happens is listen to the scanner recording from the ham radio people:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o46joQ6pbIY
I didn't take notes but heard various officers call out multiple shooter locations from time to time.
From memory Floor 29, Floor 32, Gate 17, for most of the time it sounded like they (LVPD) had absolutely no idea what was going on...
There's also. Of time where various groups of officers were ready to go on various floors but seem to have never been given the go-ahead maybe there was an alternate SWAT comms going on that's not public.
Also while I was listening heard one mention of warning for officers to look out for booby traps.
Note that the link provided is not the audio that I listen to which was on my computer, is just the best I could find right now while on my phone.

fog of war
hmmm, note for later:
what is average time to respond for FBI HRT team for each city; follow up - * Was it an FBI HRT team?*
Oh yeah there is definitely some fog of war, it was fascinating to listen to them attempt to gain control of the situation.
The thing I hate is when police departments or governments will give the public the false impression that they are in any way capable of protecting them in chaotic situations like this (security theater) and it could not be further from the truth the more serious the situation the more incapable they seem to be.
Which is fine I'm not saying I could do a better job, just that they should not give people a false sense of security.
Then you have the gun control morons that think that's the solution to everything, what a joke.
as organized agents, States can provide better responses in some situations; provided they havn't been subverted or corrupted...a big assumption
you're looking for
however, organizations other than states can structure themselves for the same goals
gonna be true for any human institution; this is lessened by experience...Las Vegas, Orlando etc will have better respones next time, but we hope there is no next time
Agreed.
I did an abbreviated post on InformationWar and the Fog of War at one point; I probably should dig that up, and make it a full post.
