Partiko Messaging Announced at SteemFest 3
This week, Partiko attended SteemFest 3 and announced the long-anticipated private messaging feature for the Steem blockchain - Partiko Messaging.
Partiko Messaging is the best way to stay connected with your Steem friends. In fact it's the first real private messaging solution for the Steem blockchain.
You can send private messages with your Partiko friends (following each other makes you friends), and if you want to send messages to someone who’s not using Partiko Messaging, you can do that too! Partiko will leave a comment under your friend’s latest post on your behalf! It’s really magical!
Partiko Messaging is available for Partiko Android users now, and you can download the latest version here on the Google Play Store.
We will start the Easter egg giveaway in 24 hours! Stay tuned!
Partiko iOS users will get the Messaging feature before the end of 2018. We’re working really hard on that! Please stay tuned!

I love the private messaging feature it will essentially make the use of outside chat apps null bringing the interaction back to a single interface easily connected to interaction on the blockchain.
Just did my survey, I will be increasing my delegation over time as I can grow my account 💪.
Can’t wait for DTube video playability within the iOS app along with the private messaging feature, good choices in which features to bring first. Still got my fingers crossed for Mobile DTube uploads via Partiko, that will be something I rave about 😎.

That is correct! Because it can't be seen by the other person (who's not using Partiko Messaging) if it's private!

How does this work? Are messages encrypted end-to-end?

The blockchain supports encrypted messages . They can be sent as a note to a trqnsfer, starting with # sign. In backend this is encrypted with the public memo key of the receiver, and can only be decrypted by the holder of the private key. But I doubt that partiko will do so... It will need 0.001 SBD for every message send away
You can encrypt any message like that, you don't have to use the transfer memo mechanism to send it to someone. Any chat application can do so, in case it can get a hold of the user's private memo key. That is why I am asking...

Partiko Messaging is a great evolution for Steemit. In this way it will be easier create beautiful realtionships and collaboration between users.
Probably there will be problems when someone will start to make spam.
