Few month back I have wrote about Games on Steem and how one can build turn based games on top of blockchain right now. In this post, I wanted to share my point of view about another Graphene chain Peerplays project.
Peerplays is dedicated blockchain to take game industry to next level by combining blockchain and financial incentive direct into its core. It is quite exciting to see Graphene chains trying to solve different problems which we have in blockchain space and in society in general.
Peerplays is also taking similar approach by introducing first app Bookie on top of Peerplays, just like Steem did with first app Steemit.
I believe just like Steem, Peerplays will have multiple opportunities for developers to build games on top of the blockchain. Giving them and their users necessary tool and financial engine.
Bookie is sport betting application without house, eager to see how this plays out. But I am more interested in games that peers can play with each other realtime. As I mentioned in Games on Steem post, Chess, Words, Rock Scissors Paper (which you can check out on peerplays testnet), many more potential apps, entertaining services are possible.
When I played RSP game on peerplays testnet, I thought, here we go, that's great example of game and tournament on chain. It is not only showing possibility for Peerplays but for Steem as well. And had few ideas how to build games on top of both chains utilizing what those chains offer.
Imagine, integrated Entertainment or Games section on eSteem so that users can play when they are not blogging. Earn, Blog, Play, Exchange and with new EOS chain automate everything else. :)
Peerplays crowdfunding is about to finish in 2 days time, if you haven't checked out, go ahead and learn more about project: https://peerplays.com or follow @peerplays account here on Steem to get updates.
Wish we had a remind me bot. @klye can you look into that real quick? ;)
That's very useful bot actually, for meet ups and events, crowdfunding etc.
Indeed!
Resteemed @SteemJesus #thetruthproject
!Remind me bot to remind @klye about a Remind me bot!
AWESOME! I'm so glad to see you cover this, I even bought tokens this week too. All for one and one for all! Namaste :)
Congratulations @good-karma!
Your post was mentioned in my hit parade in the following category:
Already bought in on PPY, but thinking about adding more. As the graphene triplets continue to mature (BTS, STEEM, PPY) I think the synergy will be incredible.
Perspective topic @good-karma!
Good Initiative !
I am developing open source aircraft for FlightGear, if there is any need, let me know.
Do you have a project link for that?

All models are in ac-files.

Thanks!!!
Hey there!!
Great post! I bought into it, too. First, betting is a great market, and has huge global possibilities, from Jai-alai to camel racing. But what struck me was the profit-sharing aspect. As the crypto world becomes more saturated with wooden nickels, a token that can actually increase value from it's own utility...that's awesome...and great leverage to the riskier crypto investments...I think it's going to do well.
My only concern is that it is a little early. With tech advances happening so quickly, there may be another version of blockchain interaction in the near future that is faster, more developer friendly, look better, etc...at this point we are way ahead of even the early adopters...that leaves a lot of time for the competition to provide a superior tech right before that wave of consumers hits the market...
Thank you so much for this post!!!!
Following you, of course!!!!!

Perfect posting From you @good-karma
Resteem!!!
Upvoted and followed! Keep up good work!
Excellent excellent article... games on the block chain are the future!
Hay ho @good-karma :)
before I start: My comment may become a bit critical - So just to make sure: Your post itself is great!
Actually, I do not see any benefit from a user perspective provided by peerplays. Ye, it may be hip and cool because it uses blockchain technology, but where is the difference to other platforms? There are enough game and gambling sites where I can use Tokens, Fiat, Bitcoins,.. to play games, so what makes peerplays better? (It is a real question and not ironic - I don't get it :D )
Thats the important point here for me. If I, as a Steem user, can directly use my Steem that I've earned in a game to buy ingame stuff without time consuming transactions, I have a real benefit :) And as Facebook shows there is a lot more cool stuff to integrate like inviting friends directly to the game.
Best regards! :)
Real difference I see is that it is dedicated blockchain! Of course other tokens can be integrated and utilized, but imagine if project manage to get game developers on board where they finally have way to build business around without too much difficulty. For example some games you see today have their internal tokens but they only sell it to users to unlock some features, now this process can be handled easier. I am not saying peerplays solves this or that problem that's yet to be seen, it is exciting to watch and try to be open minded about it.
And my original article was about Steem Games just like Facebook Games where you play with friend and earn something with Steem's monetary reward system or pay to unlock etc. so much to explore and to be tried on Steem.
Yes, you are absolutly right - I definitely see the benefit for developers and I guess I also understand the idea. I just wanted to point out that they may have a hard start as (from my point of view) there is no real benefit for the end user.
Right - Sorry for that :) Good to know that you have a vision that goes into the same direction <3
Best regards :)
I bought a couple PPY as the platform seems interesting and I'm sure I'll see a decent ROI from them. Might buy more before the deadline is up.
This is not investment suggestion but point of view about the project! 😉 Looking forward to see where it goes...
And mentioning it to my mom she has now bought some.
I think Steem is built on the bitcoin blockchain. Do you think there would be a way to eventually bring over Ethereum game tokens or any Ethereum tokens onto Steem, or no because it's a different blockchain?
Steem and steemit is it own blockchain, not built on anyother. It could in have an Etheteun 'Market Pagged Assets'. But is something I think steemit will never do. Then again Steemit is open source. So some else could make an app to for this.
Got it. There was some app, i can't remember the name, but it was talking about linking blockchains together, so who knows, they may all be talking to each other one day!
useful info
Bought into PPY Crowdfund at https://www.peerplays.com/crowdfund/ I think it has massive potential!
Thats cool 😉
What is the link to the gaming thing, 3D? let me know please my friend @good-karma
Fearplays peerplays
Wow , this is really interesting even kids can join :P and I'd better encouraged my younger brother to join this!! Great one @good-karma ;-))
Happy nice to hear about game
Adt this is something that i waiting in this platform
