We co-create reality. Here are some laws of creation that may assist your awareness:
You exist. Can't do much about that (better get used to it!)
The all are the one, the one is the all. Every being is a reflection of 'the one' and also IS 'the one' expressing itself as an individuated entity.
What you put out is what you get back. If you believe that something is true for you, then you will experience a reflection of that belief in physical reality - so it is very important to be aware of every thought, belief and resulting emotion that is within us if we are to know the truth.
Everything changes, except for the first 3 laws.
My advice is not to get caught up in the trap of agreeing that 'we know this' and 'we don't know that' - which 'scientists' like to propagate as if they alone are the pinnacle of human consciousness and if 'they' don't know something then no-one does ;)

We live in our own subjective world, and all we need to do is to create our own meaning. Don't take life too seriously and just enjoy and find importance in what is around is. "The map is not the territory" - each one of us has a different reality because the information coming to us from our senses processed differently for every person. The implications are that there is no absolute reality :)
Which also means that our brain giving the meaning to stuff... Which also means (Ironic) that there's no absolute meaning to life :D

There is even a more basic question: are we suppose to understand reality? And what is it?
Quantum is giving us radical insight into the idea that what we thought was real was not. Now we are suddenly entering upon the spiritual realm when we consider the observer effect.
This only gets more complicated when we add in the concept of the universe being a hologram and multi-dimensions. Is it nothing more than a great big piece of software? Are we existing in many realms at the same time? These are questions that we will continue to focus upon.
The exciting part to all this is I believe mankind will have more time to ponder this since I feel AI will start to handle a great deal of the mundane or physical problems that have plagued mankind. We do have limited abilities. AI, on the other hand, has the ability to expand exponentially.
I believe that AI will help a great deal with these questions as well, as you said, it has the ability to expand exponentially. Perhaps we are even created by an AI. This is sooo interesting I really hope to stay alive to be able to perhaps find an answer to all of this.. he he but I guess, more and more questions will follow.

You really hope to stay alive...? I dont know how old you are but I am 47 and I am sure I have another 103 years to go. The human longevity arena is also forging ahead at a very rapid pace. The next 20 years will see medical/scientific breakthroughs which will take blast through the supposed biological ceiling of 120 years.
So I believe you will live long enough to see a great deal of what was previous imagination or sci-fi.

I don't think humans will ever be able to understand reality. Mainly because most people are too busy living in denial and making up their own distorted versions of what they perceive to be reality.
