I've only been to one hockey game and we didn't see the Zamboni that day.
I did, however, see a hockey puck fly nearby. Hit a poor woman sitting up the row from us and they took her off on a stretcher.

Geez.....that would hurt!!! Wasn't there a plexi glass barrier? Obviously not where she was sitting.
Zambonis are interesting. I love the markings they make.
There was a barrier but a few rows of seating was above it. I guess they thought it was too high for that to happen.
I never was able to find out if she was okay but I hope she was.
