Dune Drama

in #photofeed7 years ago (edited)

South of Salt Lake City are Utah's under-appreciated Little Sahara Sand Dunes. It's a veritable playground for a photographer - with so many possible angles, the dunes are beautiful at sunrise, sunset and at night, by star or moonlight; I keep coming back here to try new things.

Thanks, Joel! :D

Wow, that's a real stunner again :)

Hey, thank you! :D

Dunes are amazing ! Was never able to photograph them, hopefully i get a chance !

Yeah, I hope you can get out there! :)

Simple and beautiful @derekkind. Upv&Restm.

Man, Utah is such a beautiful place. I hope we can stop taking it for granted.

Yeah, it's got a lot of variety! :)

Great shot! It is amazing if you have opportunity to take photo of dunes in different conditions. Keep up your great work :)

I've been lucky to get out there a few times on different trips to Utah. Thank you! :)

Its amazing to think that the US has so many diverse geographical areas; mountains, dessert, swamp-land, prairies. This shot is quite spectacular!

And that's just the contiguous USA... Thank you!

Awesome picture!
That play of light and shadow and the golden tone is stunning!

This shot is breath taking! It should be hanging on the wall in the nearest art gallery, it is THAT good.

Glad you think so, @seaslim! Maybe some day I'll get my stuff into galleries. :)

Hehe, thank you! :)

Great shot! Those curves, light and colour!

Thanks man! :)

shadows and contrast make photography perfect

You know Derek, if you just moved to Utah you'd have a lot more opportunities to try new things at the dunes. ;)

I know, I know..

This looks great! The light is fantastic. I honestly didn't know about those dunes. Seems like a great place for photography

They're small-ish, especially compared to the ones in Death Valley and in Colorado and New Mexico, but being only a couple hours outside SLC makes them really accessible to anyone based in that area. :)

That light is superb.

Thanks! I also did the Ansel Adams thing and dodged and burned a lot in Lightroom. :)

Well, your posts speak for themselves. But thanks! Are you associated with Randall Munroe and XKCD?
