Greetings Dear Readers;
.
Hope you are well.
This Principle of Leadership...'No one emerges without being a great subordinate.'
gives us something to think about, does it not.
If we have not learned the basics about being part of a sports team, being part of an organisation, being a member of the Petunia Club....is it possible for us to have success in leading others?....perhaps not.
One might query...Why is that?...because there needs to be a value placed on the position of authority before one can appreciate their own role in leadership and those they lead.
This is a subject which is not popular today....yet even the simplest of acts...like that of driving an automobile...requires a certain level of authority orientation. We stop at the red traffic light...which is obedience to a basic mandate of driving and we hope others do as well...right.
Let's give this principle a think...shall we.
Thank you for dropping by. ^__^
.
Kind Regards,
.
Bleujay

Principles are timeless truths as relevant today as they were yesterday and will be tomorrow.
All for our ponderance.

Start from the bottom, climb up as we observe others, obviously following those with good energy, sensible mind, disciplined and organized, what more leader could a person follow and learn from, and when it is his turn to have this responsibility to lead, he will remember what he learned from the one who was previously his superior.
Greetings @lupega ,
Well said. ^__^

Yes..obedience and the understanding of it...has a lot to do with what it takes to emerge as a leader.

Definitely gives us something to think about.
If we break it down to the absolute basics of purpose, we are here to interact with the universe and organisms within it. When we are acting as part of a team, that is the evolution of that concept and makes sense.
On our own, we are limited to our own perspective, predispositions and mindset. The only way to really progress and grow is by luck or big mistakes that force us to change. On a team, we are pushed to perform and cooperate to fulfill different roles and add up to greater than the sum of individuals.
So, not knowing how to follow would make us not able to lead effectively, having not become good at following or knowing what it is like.
Like it or not, humans are a bit of a wildcard and agent of chaos. It is that randomness and unexpected anomaly that can frustrate or push a team to that next level of achievement.
So, being a part of that team as a follower is to know a role, be able to push and be pushed to compete and improve, then the emergence happens…not necessarily individually.
Greetings @zekepickleman ,
Thank you for your well written reply.
Because mankind posseses volition...he will always be as you said a bit of a wildcard. His choices make him who he is....a person of honour or dishonour.
For Bleujay... The factor cannot be luck as God is definitely a factor...thus Good decisions made from a position of strength bring success and Bad decisions from a position of weakness bring failure.
Otherwise your reply is spot on.
This line from your comment: 'So, being a part of that team as a follower is to know a role, be able to push and be pushed to compete and improve, then the emergence happens…not necessarily individually.'
True...many times in the case of teamwork...a certain individual does stand out as exemplary and leads the team to victory whether he is said leader or not.
So appreciate you dropping by and bringing dialogue to the table with regard to this principle.
Cheers!....on the house. ^__^

You are right my friend, soemtimes being a goof follower is what we need to accomplish something. Because without that, we won't be able to do things in a single lead, thus it could make the chaos in the work that we need to do. Not because we are not able to think, but because we know that someone has a better skill to empower the other to do things in a right way, with a single line of instruction.
Have a great day ahead my friend.

Salute'!
What lovely pictures of the beach. There's nothing like a pleasant walk along a beach to blow the cobwebs away. The water looks lovely and clear from the images.
Skyfish eh? What an intriguing piece of art you've created there. What was the inspiration for it may I ask? Or was it more a moment of spontaneous creativity? The final product is very unique and beautiful. I get a strong sense of freedom when I look at that piece of art.
I see you're sticking with the principle of leadership again, this is an important focus for you isn't it? Although this time your focus is more on the recipient of the authority and power, not the leader.
Your perspective on the subordinate provokes much procrastination. None of us really like to feel we are subordinate or even subservient to others, but, as you rightly point out, in society it is inevitable. We accept such subordination with ease as children, understandably. But as adults it becomes a more difficult thing to accept.
I am always prepared to accept a subordinate position in the company of true leaders who respect their position, as well as their subordinates. The relationship between accepting subordination, say in the workplace, and expecting respect at the same time can become a tense relationship when leaders do not perform as they should.
My word @bleujay your principles really provoke thinking and discussion. Bravo!
I am very fond of watching what other have found on the sea shore during their walks.
Enjoyable visuals (just not too much...)

That is true, no one emerges from nowhere to lead a project, you have to be involved and know it so that at the right moment when there is no one (leader) to assume that role
Greetings @hjrrodriguez ,
Excellent way of explaining the Principle.... thank you for contributing to the dialogue.
Kind Regards to you and the familia,

Indeed, we cannot lead without firstly following.
Those beautiful seaside shots are lovely, peaceful and full of tranquility. Did you recently visit the seaside?
Greetings @josediccus ,
A very good way of paraphrasing the Principle.
Happy to hear your thoughts regarding the photographs of the seaside...exactly what Bleujay would hope for as a response....Lovely.
I wish it were so....but perhaps soon. ^__^
Kindest Regards,
Bleujay
You're welcome. It's been over 20 years I last visited the seaside, so I wonder how it feels to be somewhere as this. However, thank you for bringing these beautiful pictures
My pleasure.
Let me see if I can describe it for you.
This beach was visited in April...a cooler time of year...it is a bit of an inlet...therefore very quiet without loud waves...just a quiet lapping of the water as it comes in and then recedes.
Cheers, Bleujay
Greetings @qurator ,

Have a blessed day @bleujay!
You took great photos of the water's edge where you can see sparkling, water-polished stones, which in themselves are, it seems to me, a great illustration of your idea about how the relationship between an employer and a subordinate is built.
There are many proverbs about this, characters are polished like stones in the sea and the like.
But, you know, the success of people and the success of God can be very different and God will never set us a task that we cannot complete.
As for the success of people, here, as they say, the human factor plays an important role on both sides, because both the manager and the subordinate, in turn, can inadequately perceive the situation in which they find themselves :)
