'Lilies Amid Early Autumnal Harvest'

Greetings Dear Readers,
.
Hope you are well.
What a Principle we have here....'Ritual without reality is meaningless.'
Shall we give it a look?
Perhaps we could start by asking ourselves...'What do we have in the way of ritual in our lives?' Does it having meaning or do we just go through the motions? For example; Rituals in the marriage ceremony, Rituals in observation of religion, Rituals in greetings....etc. This thought could even be extended to the Traditions of holidays...of Christ-mas....etc.
These are rhetorical queries...to ask yourself..to ponder.
Perhaps from time to time it is a good idea to give rituals and traditions a think.
Thank you for dropping by. ^__^

Kind Regards,

Principles are timeless truths as relevant today as they were yesterday and will be tomorrow.
All for our ponderance.

Information with regard to the 'Icing'(Photographs and Artwork)
Photographs are taken with an iPad Pro and edited on the iPad Pro editing feature. The Lilies were obtained at a local florist and then arranged with collected oak leaves with acorns attached along with Annabelle Hydrangeas and the vine is Sweet Autumn Clematis...not yet blooming...from the Garden into the Still Life you see above...arranged by Bleujay.
The small watercolour painting 'Lily' is an excerpt from a larger painting by Bleujay. Materials used are: Winsor&Newton watercolour paint tubes, watercolour pencils, D'Arches watercolour paper, and graphite.
At first I was thinking that I had no rituals around my daily living, but after giving it some thought, almost everything revolves around rituals. What brings that to mind is the very ritualistic way I prepare to leave the house (in this case, heading to the grocery store). On my way out now but will give it some more thought as I go through the day.
Thank you for the timeless truth and for the beautifully arranged still life...it is gorgeous! Have a great day @bleujay!!
Greetings @tamaralovelace ,
Thank you for your lovely kind reply. ^__^
You know I thought the same thing when I first came across this Principle. ^__^
Some things are routine and are we not thankful for those things...
yet we are aware that we thought them through before they became routine.
Then there are rituals...perhaps more recognisable if referred to as traditions...which some are.
Illustration....The story of a family..three generations of Mums in the kitchen...the youngest is putting the turkey in the Cooking pan and cuts the tail off the turkey...and someone inquires...Why do you cut the tail off the turkey?
She responds...because my Mum did. So then the youngest asks her Mum...why did you cut the tail off the turkey....She responds...Because my Mum did...and since she is in the room...they ask her...Why did you cut the tail off the turkey?
She answers ..Because the Cooking pan was too small. ^__^
We should know the Why...We should inquire the Why?...then we have capacity for the Rituals and Traditions...brought about by understanding and giving a think with regard to the Why.
Wishing you and yours A Happy Christ-mas,
Bleujay
lol A lovely example indeed! I may use this story in the near future, if that's okay by you?
It is absolutely true that we should not simply carry on rituals/traditions without knowing the whys that brought about those same rituals/traditions. They should be meaningful.
Merry Christmas to you and your family as well <3
Oh please do...it really does serve to illustrate the point...A dear friend told it to me,... she would be very pleased to hear the story was useful.
Thank you for your kind Christ-mas Wishes...I will pass them on....^__^
I see rituals, as those life events that we repeat on a daily and have come to attach deeper meaning and understanding to.
Beautiful shots you've got there. What device did you shoot with?
Welcome back, it's been a while
Greetings @josediccus ,
Appreciate your lovely comment.
It is when we understand the ritual that we have capacity for the ritual, referring to yes...your words..'attach deeper meaning'..to the ritual....just as we should. ^__^
Thank you for the kind words regarding the photographs...I used an iPad Pro...even though I have a Canon EOS Rebel T7...it does not seem suited for this type of work...perhaps I should give it another go.
Bleujay posts once a week for now.
Wishing you and yours a Happy Christ-mas,
Bleujay
I don't know how an iPad pro actually works, I didn't know you could shoot with it. But how is it more suited to actually shoot better than the Cannon, is it because of the lens or the position of the object?
Overall, you made a good shoot because this actually looks very good.

Thank you @claudio83 ...you are too kind.
Happy Christ-mas to you and yours...

Allow me to expound on my pet peeve.
Our trust in the western medical model borders on religious, and most of us follow rituals in that regard. The annual mecca to the doctor. The annual mecca for mammogram and pap smear. The semi-annual mecca to the dentist. The every five years mecca for a colonoscopy. In these cases and more, the rituals are worse than meaningless; they are harmful.
Greetings @owasco ,
Appreciate you dropping by for a cuppa.
True, True, True,...I so agree with you.
It sounds like you and I are on the same page....the only visit to any physician is when they are required....not as expected on a schedule. Let's keep our volition intact. ^__^
Wishing you a Happy Christ-mas,
Bleujay
It's always lovely to meet kin on this issue.
I firmly believe, after watching too many loved ones die early deaths from iatrogenic disease, that our best chance to live long and healthy lives is to stay away from western med unless it is sorely needed. There are so many other healing methods, not the least of which is to stop pouring toxic OTC meds into the body while it is defending itself via inflammation, fever, diarrhea, vomiting and pain. And we do this kind of thing in the first hour of our newborns lives! It's absurd. I am very angry about it today. Thanks for listening.
Happy holidays and beautiful flowers every day to you!
Beautiful photos and I loved looking at that white lily also in watercolor!... Wow!... How lovely!...
As a child, I grew up immersed in the Catholic religion and me and my siblings had prayer rituals upon awakening and before going to bed to sleep... With the passing of the years and the arrival of the typical rebelliousness of adolescence, much of that was left behind in me.... But around the age of 36 I ended up in a psychologist's chair (due to work stress) and that helped me to “reconnect” somehow with the practice of certain things as a ritual to calm down, I even explored yoga, but nowadays I usually wake up, go out to my backyard, talk to my 4 cats, prepare coffee and enjoy its taste and aroma, look at the horizon and see the first lights of the morning, and then decide where I will go to wander around taking pictures... When I do everything like this, I know the day will flow properly... From my point of view, that's my morning ritual!...

Thank you for your kind and encourageing words with regard to the post.
It is true ..routine and order ..assist in bringing order to our lives and in disaster it should be established as quickly as possible.
Routine is quite the organiser of our day and such....It is usually thought through and you are aware of why you are doing what you are doing...it is usually a volitional choice not a blind choice.
Ritual on the other hand....like praying upon awakening and at bedtime would be a considered a ritual...and could be a ritual that was meaningless if one did not understand they were speaking on a direct line to God the Father, Supreme Being of the Universe who has given humans/mortals the privilege of speaking to Him directly.
In order to do so...God has promised that if we believe in His Son Jesus Christ...we become His children and have a prayer direct line to God the Father through Christ His Son....and eternal life with Him forever.
Christ said I am the way, the truth and the life...no man cometh unto the Father but by Me. John14.6 It is faith alone in Christ alone for salvation. A choice, your choice...therefore meaningful.
Thank you for your recommendation to Discovery-it and for the Pizza...very kind of you.
Kind Regards, Wishing you and yours a Happy Christ-mas.

We always do things in a specific way but without the dose of reality and what we try turns out well, we will surely progress in life if at the same time we are constant
Greetings @hjrrodriguez ,
Hope the familia is well.
This phrase....you said..'but without the dose of reality' is really very descriptive of meaningless ritual. Well said.
The goal is to understand the Rituals in our life and make a choice about those Rituals so that they do become meaningful or not....not blindly following. Knowing the 'Why'.
Kind Regards and Happy Christ-mas Wishes to you and the familia ,^__^
Bleujay
I think rituals provide order, a sense of control, without which, there could be a high level of chaos.
The lilies are lovely!
Greetings @edith-4angelseu ,
True and true....however, that does not mean we should blindly participate in rituals we do not understand...the Principle is encouraging the reader to seek understanding, to ask the question 'Why', ....in order to have capacity for that ritual or for a tradition.
To make it a volitional choice rather than not even giving it a think and participating anyway. 'Go along to get along' is the adage that bypasses one's volition, one's choice in the matter.
Thank you for opportunity to discuss the Timeless Truth. ^__^
Appreciate your kind comment with regard to the Lilies.

Hello @bleujay on this Sunday morning!
I am always interested to see your flower arrangements, because I know how difficult it is to make a bouquet if you approach this matter seriously, like you.
The sweet aroma of lilies merged with a slight bitterness of green plants, which complemented this composition and there is something of haute cuisine in this :)
Probably, this is the answer to the question about rituals that should not be put above God, sometimes, people, not having the opportunity to perform a ritual according to the full price list, are deprived of the blessings of God, who looks at this a little differently and forgives even those who eat bread from the holy of holies.
In general, the topic is complex, the breaking of bread, the correct ritual, but, for yourself, you need to understand, is this faith, or religiosity, something like that.
Blessed day to you!
