RE: A Timeless Truth....presented by Bleujay

in #photographyyesterday (edited)

Greetings @tamaralovelace ,

Thank you for your lovely kind reply. ^__^

You know I thought the same thing when I first came across this Principle. ^__^

Some things are routine and are we not thankful for those things...
yet we are aware that we thought them through before they became routine.

Then there are rituals...perhaps more recognisable if referred to as traditions...which some are.

Illustration....The story of a family..three generations of Mums in the kitchen...the youngest is putting the turkey in the Cooking pan and cuts the tail off the turkey...and someone inquires...Why do you cut the tail off the turkey?

She responds...because my Mum did. So then the youngest asks her Mum...why did you cut the tail off the turkey....She responds...Because my Mum did...and since she is in the room...they ask her...Why did you cut the tail off the turkey?

She answers ..Because the Cooking pan was too small. ^__^

We should know the Why...We should inquire the Why?...then we have capacity for the Rituals and Traditions...brought about by understanding and giving a think with regard to the Why.

Wishing you and yours A Happy Christ-mas,

Bleujay

lol A lovely example indeed! I may use this story in the near future, if that's okay by you?

It is absolutely true that we should not simply carry on rituals/traditions without knowing the whys that brought about those same rituals/traditions. They should be meaningful.

Merry Christmas to you and your family as well <3

Oh please do...it really does serve to illustrate the point...A dear friend told it to me,... she would be very pleased to hear the story was useful.

Thank you for your kind Christ-mas Wishes...I will pass them on....^__^
