Okay, I admit that I actually meant "literally" about "getting my ducks in a row." The figurative part is a lifetime in the making. I thought of that thought because my first shot of those ducks actually looks like this.
I like going out on weekends and even though my significant other would rather stay home and rest, he's supportive that I'm a mustang and staying in the house would make me depressive so we've often hang out places nearby and enjoy nature or some good food. It just helps unwind.
Something about nature is so therapeutic it heals whatever bothers you have inside. We slept on in the whole weekend so I missed out on the sun. Though it was late when we decided to take a stroll, I asked my hubby to take me to one of my favorite havens on this side of the earth.
I went there to play with some of my favorite animals and I was a bit shocked when I saw that their playground is submerged in this much water. I can barely see the poles of the fences that keep them in this habitat because only the last one has its top above the water level.
I guess that explains why it was too foggy the other day. On our way to Winterswijk it was this unusually too foggy even though it was already 11 am.
I was starting to worry that my beautiful playmates have drowned but they're one of the smartest animals on earth so I doubt it. Lots of plants, grasses and them naked trees are swimming in the cold murky water though.
I've never been on this side of the place but I've tried following their dung hoping I'd find them there but just more of them proof that the water level is too high these days. Probably cause of the storm? Worried? No, we're not, the Dutch are the masters of the water and I think someone up there loves them so much, too. There are many righteous people here. He has a soft heart to those who are He shan't forsake us.
I could hear a lot of them birds and every now and then a row of them ducks would fly above us but I have only seen this couple swimming for food. I think she spotted me. They're quite far away so I had to use the 200mm lens but the auto doesn't seem to help on a gloomy day or I was doing it wrong.
We headed to the other side and we've never really gotten this far. My playmates were just normally in the clearing we didn't have to cross the bridge but this time we did. We finally saw how deep the water is(that's my hubby checking out how deep it is.) In summer, we could stroll under this bridge and the ones who live on the other side could drive on the path on its side but this time they can't. The water level would surely drown their car.
I wonder if the water has ever gone this far and close to the sidewalk here but it even created a mini pond of the other side where I saw these thistles. I tried taking a pic of them and a guy on a green coat with his Nikon saw me in action and asked spontaneously; "with a flash?" I told him, I haven't read the manual so I just put it on auto.
He reached for my cam and set it to P and I was a bit surprised and probably my hubby, too. No one's allowed to touch my stuff without asking permission and he just did hahahhaha.. ^___^ !
Oh well, he did helped me take a more natural pic and even gave me advice to watch films about how to use my D Eye if I'm no fan of reading. I guess my folks are wrong about talking to stranger. This one's taught me something huh?
I wanted to try to take a pic of that epic bridge from afar so I walked further and did. The train is a just a bonus.
I found another path and my curiousity took me further while my husband explores what seem to be an old mill in there.
Am glad I gave in to my feet's itch cause look what I found! My playmates! Safe and happily grazing just behind the mill. I don't dare go near them cause I'm not sure its safe specially that there's a bull in sight.
It was really dark so we went back home. You may not believe it cause the sky registers to be white on the pictures but it was actually already hard to see and watch out for the poop everywhere. Here's proof that the sun has left this earth when we left my lil' heaven on this side of earth.
Are you from the EU? Is your country also experiencing this much humidity these days? I wonder...
Are you new in Steemit? Kindly read the Complete Steemit Etiquette Guide Revised Edition authored by @thecryptofiend to help us all get along well with each other. Hopefully you do get to read it now since there's nothing else that comes after it except that picture below.
yes but thanks to him I'm getting educated using my cam now
I don't have to always use auto so it's forgiven
he's also got his cam also a Nikon so I think he was just trying to help
very kind imho though I wish he'd asked me too :D
it's rainin again today
the heavens upset here I suppose :D
They spend less energy flying like this,
they change in turn the leading position which is the one that uses this energy the most.
Those behind take advantage of the currents created by those in front.
You have shared very great and artistic pictures. Awesome piece of photography and choice. Have done really well in describing each and every effect very clearly and artistically. Thanks!
I see you are very happy to enjoy the journey and enjoy the atmosphere of nature is so peaceful, there are birds, ducks, horses, ha .. ha .. if there is no flood, of course the place is very nice to be enjoyed.
Thank you for guessing :D Actually I heard it in my playlist on spotify.com/user/matajingga-low-beats you can find many of your favorite songs. While looking at the beautiful post :)
These pictures are beautiful and lovely... I truly love seeing this kinda things, thanks for feeding my eyes with these amazing beauties...thanks for sharing....
that flooding is kind of alarming
i hope the Dutch are well prepared
anyway, on a positive note ...
those swans are captivating
i like the bridge shot too: D
P.S. We have humidity too, unfortunately.
I am in the south of France here it s good, but in Paris and these around everything is flooded near the rivers .
Many people no longer have electricity and are stuck.
I had to go to Paris next Tuesday to go to the Musée d'Orsay for the holidays, I am obliged to cancel because the train there does not circulate.
Sorry my friend, I just wanted to answer some of your questions, (Are you from the EU?) No, I am from Asia precisely in Aceh. (Has your country also experienced much moisture lately?) A few weeks ago our area often rained and many rice farmers failed because of drowning.
Maybe you hope our region does not feel the same way as in your country.
If I think it's related, because the nature of the water flows. But that's not enough to hang us where. Poor farmers try to imagine if the peasants do not do it, what we consume today, the peasants are very rich even though the eyes look down on or poor against the peasants.
Saw you name passing by regarly but now i finally know your name. English teacher Ivy. I really have some reading problems hehe. But better late then never.
Didn't even knew that there were water problems in The Netherlands. I can't remember that i ever saw something like this.
And all great photo's, i like the one with the bridge and your husband. And of course the old shed or something.
but its not a problem yet
it hasnt reached the dike yet so I dont think you'd have to worry
it's going to be fine for all I know
Have you ever been to the Rijnkade? The water there has reached the sidewalk which they used as a "sandbalk" during summer a week before the storm but it has subsided
saw it on the news that some bike path to the border to DE is all flooded kids have to take a longer biking route to get to school now and today its raining so I wonder .. if it's higher now
Indeed a small heaven on earth that is very true... Myself enjoying those collection of photographys its really fascinating .
From your first photo (sub-marged) I could deduce from that pictures those ducks are displayed their energy, showing confidentiality and demonstrated of one love (Togetherness) which you were able to captured... I will see one day but I'm never experienced snow
Plus those looking at those old building and those horse's really an enjoyable trip for you... Music audible to your hearing and feel the vipe wow!!! It's a realistic ..
A very entertaining adventure @englishtchrivy, I really like the bird landscape that looks very compact fly together. this is an incredible sight for me. thanks for sharing a very interesting post. send regards for success.
im from victoria australia it was flooding and freezing today and it was 40 degrees celcius the day before it messes you up going from hot to cold like that ...looks like your enjoying life love a possitive outlook
I was amazed by the scenery in the photo. It is so much so that I think of beauty as it is in Indonesia. I really like your post, and I really appreciate it, thanks for the sharing :) @englishtchrivy Resteemed :)
Yeah it sure helps and to take a timeout and get relaxed in time to time !
However it sure seems a fogy day you passed & from the car it sure seems it was not a pretty great day for a long drive though !
I also like to feed ducks and swans. They need our help in such a cold period of winter. We have a small lake in 1 km from my house so every 2-3 days i buy a loaf of bread and go there to feed birds:). I love to watch them, how they eat and act. They are very funny 😁😀😁.
You are very good person @englishtchrivy ! Keep taking care about your little friends:)
Thank you for this lovely post @englishtchrivy.

Do you know why the birds fly in the V formation?
They spend less energy flying like this,
they change in turn the leading position which is the one that uses this energy the most.
Those behind take advantage of the currents created by those in front.
Yes you are correct.
awesome,,, very nice photo
You have shared very great and artistic pictures. Awesome piece of photography and choice. Have done really well in describing each and every effect very clearly and artistically. Thanks!

I totally agree with you! When I feel depressed, I go out for a walk in the nature. After that everything feels a lot better! :)

sorry about that .. poor farmers ...
the moon's unusually huge, too
I wonder if it has something to do with all the water rising
If I think it's related, because the nature of the water flows. But that's not enough to hang us where. Poor farmers try to imagine if the peasants do not do it, what we consume today, the peasants are very rich even though the eyes look down on or poor against the peasants.
