Waterbirds looking for food in the shallow water

I had several trips to nice spots near a lake or at a river where i was able to get some nice shots of waterbirds. Today i know i need to shoot pictures at the hight of the animal to get really great looking pictures. But back then in 2018 i didn't realise that this keeps me from getting these really nice pictures. So i know the following picture could have been improoved, but i will try to improove this in my future pictures.

I was lucky to encounter already several different species of birds and my collection is growing from month to month. I hope i can add several pictures to it this comming season. One thing i will also improove is to always take a second pair of trousers and a towel so i can lie down on the ground and get better angles for the pictures.

Since shallow water is the best place to encounter several waterbirds, i plan to visit shores on rivers and lakes that are not that deep and have a nice "beach". Best if it is a sady beach so there should be plenty of places where the birds look for food in the water. Also for me it is better if i have to lie down in the water it should be shallow so i don't sink or drown my camera.
