Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season so far!
My family had a wonderful Thanksgiving this past Thursday. I realize not a lot of you celebrate this American holiday but I'm sure you're familiar with the huge feast that is involved and since I am a food blogger in a whole family of Steemians I thought I should share some of the photos.
We like to deck the halls early so we've already decorated the house for Christmas!
We even have a real tree for the first time in so many years!
This year everyone pitched in on the dinner! My Aunt, @lifes-a-donut made the wonderful bread and her famous chicken and dumplings. My Mom (she's finally on Steemit! @mamaloves ) made the gravy and the stuffing.
"Steemfam-Dad" ( @noboxes ) made his annual special of the best mashed potatoes ever. My sister, @uglysweater makes the sweet potato casserole every year and this year she outdid herself!

I got to prepare all the side vegetables and then I made all the desserts, which were a variety of cookies, brownies, and then I made a pumpkin pie and a french silk chocolate pie!
After dinner, my brother-in-law @rigaronib made this delicious spiced cider on the stove (maybe he'll share the recipe) and then we all played games.
It was a great year for sure. The boys got silly and I snapped pictures of eveyone. I didn't manage to catch @trumpit in a picture but I think everyone else is in here. My cousin @hotrod and my little bro @freerunner, my brother-in-law @drobinson and my sisters @alovelymess and @fullofhope

Yeah, we tend to get a bit ahead of ourselves when it comes to Christmas. Not every year, but most, we decorate on the weekend before Thanksgiving so that we have the house all festive in time for Thanksgiving. We are very much enjoying being back in the states. Thanksgiving, along with Christmas, is such a magical time of the year. It represents, for some people, the only time of the year where they get to meet up with the whole family and finally get to spend some time together. In the end, what Thanksgiving truly means is about being with your loved ones and being thankful for all of the good things in life.
I had a great time with my family during this wonderful day, and it was all around quite an amazing experience. Now, I simply can't wait till Christmas to be reunited with all my cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents once again.
Really enjoyed reading your post gringalicious, this made me excited for Christmas :D

Now that we are back in the states from living in Chile, it is even harder and harder for our household to even get together. Times are busy. The smell of a real tree is truly a gift. Your family knows how to decorate too. What holiday traditions does your family have?
I agree the smell is great @kubbyelizabeth! Thanks for reading and as for our traditions, we've got a lot. Christmas movies are a big deal to us, and every Christmas morning my mom stays up really late to fill the stocking SOOOO full of things and then my dad almost always makes french toast. I know we have a lot more but those are some of my favorites.

Aww cute I really enjoyed this post! The festive season leading up to Christmas is definitely my favourite time of year for all the reasons I think your post shows i.e. decorations, spending time with family and plenty of food!!
P.S. Spotted your Kitchenaid - worth it? I've been thinking about getting one to save me from kneading my own dough and bread...nothing like hand mixed but I've heard the dough hook is very good!
Oh yeah, the kitchenaid mixer is worth it, without question. It's one of my favorite tools. In this post, my Dad is using it for mashed potatoes. One of my favorite memories is my Dad doing his potatoes every year and the kitchenaid is always part of that. And, yes the dough hook is all that. Hope that was helpful.
