Yes, if the weather resistant cameras are too long in the rain some water might get inside the camera and damage it. I have such a plastic bag in my backpack too - just in case ;)
Generally you should avoid water, but a little bit of rain or so does not matter. My old camera was not weather / water resistant and got completely frozen last winter on a mountain, but it worked fine :)

Your cameras are good quality ones so they should be able to withstand a little bit of winter weather there!

Yes, I am very condifent, that some frost and ice won't harm the camera, but I'll see when I'm next week on a snow hike :)

It hasn't snowed very much yet has it?

It has snowed a lot where my parents live and in the mountains, but here we have had only rain, much !DERANGED rain.

That sucks. Rain is ugly. If it is going to be winter then let there be snow!

Rain can be cool, but I don't like it in the colder months like now, when it should be snowing.
