Yes exactly I did end up getting certified as an EMS back then, and yes we saved a few, but also did more routine calls as well, I will be honest I did join it initially to get in free to the local speedway as part of the ambulance Crew, LOL but i enjoyed it and stuck with it
Speedway back then in NZ was a Dirt OVal track with Speedway Bikes, Stock cars and others racing each week
lol! That's hilarious! The speedway sounds like tons of fun. We have a dirt oval a couple miles from us and they have races every Saturday night that we can hear. I think those dirt tracks are pretty cool.
My brother was a mechanic on one of the cars and I could have got in with him, but that was work I wasnt so interested in doing, whereas learning and becoming an EMS and being able to help people did interest me a lot
Ohhyes you and me both I have ridden in more modern ambulances and worked in them, both things I hope never to do again LOL
Worked in them too! Overseas with the Peace Corps?
No not with Peacekeeping, Prior t that back in NZ I was a volunteer with the St Johns Ambulance Service in my Home town many many years ago
Oh like an EMS person here! That's tremendous, I bet you guys helped save alot of lives!
