RE: My favorite Mountain / Mein Lieblingsberg

in #photography5 years ago

I don't mind bad weather, even photographing in the rain can produce beautiful photos, but when the bad weather lasts for weeks and all is gray in gray every day, my motivation gets lost. Now, after a quite nice day, the motivation comes slowly back and if the weather stays nice I will be able to post new photos soon ;)

That sounds good sir johannpiber, are your cameras water-proof?

Yes, my camera can resist rain, but I cannot dive with it or stay too long in the rain though ;)

Are the nice cameras which are water-proof very expensive or do they make any that are waterproof?

I don't kow any cameras which are completely water-proof that you even could dive with them.
Of course, some of the smaller cameras are able to, but I think of the big SLR's. For these you can buy underwater housings, which almost as expensive as the camera itself ;)

That makes sense, sometimes I see photographers with their cameras covered or wrapped in plastic.

Yes, if the weather resistant cameras are too long in the rain some water might get inside the camera and damage it. I have such a plastic bag in my backpack too - just in case ;)
Generally you should avoid water, but a little bit of rain or so does not matter. My old camera was not weather / water resistant and got completely frozen last winter on a mountain, but it worked fine :)

Your cameras are good quality ones so they should be able to withstand a little bit of winter weather there!
