The ONLY reason I went with Nikon over Canon was that I like the black and yellow. 😋 I wasn't feeling some of the Canon's gray color lens.
Nikon does have a better dynamic range - it picks up shadow details very well. It's great for landscapes. However, I had been told, if you want to shoot videos, Canon would be the way to go.
There also another thing to consider. Nikon sales have been dropping and they aren't doing very well. I'm a "little" worried they might be out of the picture a few years down the line. They are coming out with a new mirrorless camera that they claim would be a game changer, but we'll see.
Someone found they had a new patent on a "curved sensor", I can only assume it's for their new mirrorless they working on. They claim this will give sharpness all around, instead of just sharp in the middle and soft on the edges. This sounds amazing, but the problem is that it wouldn't work on the old lens. I spent a great deal of money investing in lenses, it would really suck having to start over again.
Another option you may want to look into is Sony or Fuji. I'm still on the fence with Sony, I think there still room for improvement. As for Fuji, I have been hearing good things about it, but for now, i'll stick with what I already have.
