Time to dream

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Who said that dreams should necessarily be about the future? Sometimes it's just a return at some point in the past. Sometimes it happens that it seems to you that many events were not with you. As if in another life. This was so surprising. This is quite possible to dream)

One such is the region of western Papua related to Indonesia. It is called Raja-Ampat, and consists of several groups of islands. Places there are pretty wild. Most of the islands are uninhabited. Only occasionally there are villages, eco-hotels and pearl farms. Otherwise, only the safari yachts violate the tropical idyll.

It is interesting that small islands are mostly volcanic and represent "monuments" sticking out of the water. The water undermines them from below, so the walls are steep, if worse. And it's not easy to get into such an even small island.

Raja Ampat

But the view opening from the top, just stunning. Because of it, tourists are ready for anything. Even for an illegal invasion. The fact is that these islands belong to the law of local tribes. And they are very upset that the government does not share with them the revenues from the tourism business in the region. a rather complicated story, as a result of which landed and climbed to the top simply banned.

Raja Ampat

Agree with the local, almost useless - they all speak different dialects and are very stubborn. On this ascent is not quite legal. They take advantage of the fact that parts of the archipelago are uninhabited, and there is no one there.

But you will agree - the beauty is unreal, especially for our worn out long winter look. What a pity that you can not be on top during sunset or dawn. It should be just enchanting. But unfortunately it is impossible to spend the night there (at least there is simply nowhere - around one sharp rocks). And to climb at dusk is very dangerous ...

What a beautiful dream to return to for you! For me, this place has always been only a dream for the future. How did you get to the top to get these pictures if it is not allowed?!

Just climbing)
In this place we were the only people. Even fishermen there can be met very rarely.
Another thing is that before there was at least some way to the top. We had to climb the by the rocks.

Oh my goodness, those islands are unreal. I've been wanting to visit that area for a while since I've already heard great things about it, but seeing pictures like yours and reading your story just fuelled my desire to go ASAP even more!
Beautiful shots, beautiful place, beautiful post! :)

Thanks!
I myself would like to visit there once again.

They still have these beautiful places in the world ... thank you for sharing one of these beautiful places with us. Great photos!

Thank you!

Beautiful scenery. Reminds me of simular landscapes at El Nino, Palawan, Philippines.

Yes, the rocks in Palawan are similar.
There are still very similar islands in Palau.
