it doesn't snow much in London, perhaps once not even once per year. It usually doesn't stick around, so although a dedicated snow shovel would be more appropriate as a tool .. a spade is all I had !

You are so lucky! It snows constantly here in Canada for about 3 months. Still we don't shovel.We have snowblowers. =D
It's wet and damp our winters are pretty mild really If it gets down to less than 5 degrees above zero, how cold it feels is all everyone can talk about. When it actually freezes over, we're never ready for it.
