You remember the joke ?

what do you call a man with a spade - Doug !

doug googlyeyes.jpg

Here he is.

A hard worker and always jolly with an infectious smile. Doug can make light work of any task. This week he got to work shoveling snow and cleared a path all the way to the street. As spring is around the corner he will soon be turning the soil over, planting vegetables and other routine tasks. Doug has made the bold move of a crossover into instagram. If you have instagram try searching the tag #googlyprize ! Got to spread the steemit word >:)

I like your post, thank you very much for an interesting photo.

Ha, ha, ha. Made me smile @outerground! 😁

he's a nice fellow. I'm going to introduce him to @fraenk. I think they'll get on !

heh... wait... so was the shovel buried in snow, or were the eyes actually still "tacky" after their exposure to the elements?!?

Kudos for the cross-platform promotion there... I've tried bringing some of the r/googlyeyes folks this way, but reddit actively censors steemit links (I'm not joking!)

also, that Doug thing... is that like a phonetic pun or actually some reference I am just not getting?!

aha... I tried to get Doug out last week when the snow was thick, the eyes fell into the snow and disappeared. I waited until all the snow melted and found them again. (I had made sticky eyes from white tack because googly wouldn't stick in the extreme cold.)

This is Doug, just a silly joke from my childhood, (entirely phonetic). There was a whole series of them, some very corny..others quite clever, here's a link to a load of classic, what do you call a man jokes - https://whatdoyoucallaman.weebly.com/

instagram didn't seem to mind #googlyprize is now actually a tag on instagram. I'm not sure if facebook even care !

When you combine Doug with Douglas... hehehe... lol... silly stuff, I like it :D

So the white-tack stuff was still sticky after being in the snow for a few days? That stuff is better than I thought!

yeah not that sticky.. something about the angle and the properties of gravity.. you could say Doug is an anti-gravity specialist

here's a good one..

Q what do you call a man with a wooden head ?

A Edward

Q What do you call a man with 3 wooden heads ?

A Edward Woodward

Q What do you call a man with 4 wooden heads ?

I dunno, but Edward Woodward would ;)

I will look you up! However when shovelling snow a spade might not be your best option...

it doesn't snow much in London, perhaps once not even once per year. It usually doesn't stick around, so although a dedicated snow shovel would be more appropriate as a tool .. a spade is all I had !

You are so lucky! It snows constantly here in Canada for about 3 months. Still we don't shovel. We have snowblowers. =D

It's wet and damp our winters are pretty mild really If it gets down to less than 5 degrees above zero, how cold it feels is all everyone can talk about. When it actually freezes over, we're never ready for it.
