Sea, seashells, and seagulls

This last weekend was time to revisit a place I've wanted to go for quite some time. A few km south of Lisboa, below the river Sado, there's an immense beach, that stretches as far as the eye can see.

Well, they are actually several beaches, or at least named after it... but it's the same loooong stretch of sand!

It does take over an hour by car to get here from where I live... but totally worth it! Although the weather this Summer doesn't feel that hot as in last year, it's still perfect to be at the beach.

The area near this beach is also one of the natural wildlife reserves of the country. I saw a huge flock of glossy ibises flying high, and made a mental note to plan a birdwatching session here, as I have done several times in the past. But this time, the only birdwatching done was at the beach, looking at seagulls.

And it the time between staring at the seagulls, going for a swim in the clear waters, and basking at the sun, still time to play with seashells and the bokeh effect!

I don't know who had the idea to pile up all the seashells, but it was a good idea; they looked pretty cool on camera!

On the way back... still enough time to have fun with flying dresses and seeing the colours of the sunset among the pine trees and the dunes.
