New experiment on hive.
Photo Editing Experiment #1
Do you want to be part of this experiment?
All you have to do is to post a comment with a photo of yours.
Here is how it works:
- You comment with a photo of yours - unedited - the higher resolution the better
- I will edit your photo in my style in Photoshop and Lightroom
- In the next edition of the experiment I will post your photo next to my edited version (before and after the edit) also I will mention you there.
The purpose of this experiment is to find other people that love photography like I do and to give you some ideas for editing your photos.
Sometimes you ignore some photos because you don't like at the first sight, but many of them can be saved, so lets make the world a better place and save the forgotten photos 😂
I get more practice, you get an idea how to edit your photos and we can grow together in a beautiful and active hive.
Photos are edited in my style depending and on photos I might boost the colors and lights or I might crop it for better composition or even make it black and white for a dramatic effect.
Not sure how many will participate but I will try to edit as many photos I can. Also if you send me perfect photos will be really hard to improve something to it 🙂 so make sure they are normal, unedited photos.
I think it is a fun and interesting experiment and you don't have nothing to loose.
Photos need to be taken by you, I will not use your photos in any other way, I will edit them and post in the next edition and mention you, that is all.
YOU HAVE 3 DAYS TO COMMENT WITH YOUR PHOTO - STARTING NOW

As you can see some things help to improve the photos:
- contrast give some impact to the photos
- we are attracted to light, so you can darken the areas that are not important and lighten the subject
- you can also do that with clarity/texture the subject is more clear and the background is more blurred
- then colors help a lot, you can boost the colors and to get a better separation you can create transitions like you can have warm color light and cool shadows
- crop the photos for better composition, straighten them
- remove unnecessary parts that are distracting the viewer, cables, spots etc.
What do you think about this experiment? Will you participate? Do you have any questions?
I am inviting some of my friends to participate or to give their opinion about this experiment 🙂

Cool exotic photo, thanks for taking part of this 🙂
Hello! Sorry for not responding right away.
To begin with, one question. Where did you meet this green guy? Did we visit the same lawn? 8)
Regarding the idea described in the post. Your idea is interesting. From the very beginning of my passion for photography, I thought that processing was useful for photography. Processing allows you to emphasize the strengths of the photo and eliminate errors.
This idea is not new. It seems to me that the first who honed his processing skill on other people's photos in Steemit was @sulev. How much water has flowed away ... When the Russian-speaking fork of Steemit appeared, I tried the same thing there.
Then the moment came when the community came together and organized a challenge, in which each participant submitted his photo for processing and each participant processed the photos of the other participants.
Unfortunately it was a very long time ago and find those old posts. But here is something that I accidentally found https://golos.io/@neo/fotochelendzh-5-rezultaty-neo.
I must say right away that few people were ready to provide their photo for processing. You can transfer a raw file only through mail.
Later on steemit there was also a company that was engaged in similar. This was called photogames. But unfortunately I practically did not take part there.
A lot of information in your reply :) didn't know that were something similar here, I like to edit photos and I am trying to get better and make it fun and to try new things. Would be nice if it would evolve and more people get involved, we could learn new stuff from each other. Now it seems that you find my bug twin 😂 your photo seems already cool, do you think I could edit it more? Should I give oy a try?
I like to edit photos too and I was growing my skills with that challenge. Especially because there was one skilled guy who gave us some lessons.
To be true I'd like to participate in something similar. But I'm not sure if I'll have enough free time for that. And of course it's interesting only when there are enough participants.
What about that green guy. Do you want me to send a RAQ picture? I need your email for that.
I think I can try to make a new edit to this picture too.
I will edit the jpg, is more challenging :) I might crop it for different composition, hope is ok if the watermark is cut out when I crop it. I will try to post tomorrow the results, will mention you there :)
By the way, since I started talking about the challenge, I had a little time and I decided to have fun and made my own version of processing the photos that were offered to you in the comments. If you and the authors of these photos do not mind, I will publish them after you too. This way we can give a different vision of the same photos.
Since this shot was taken without a macro lense it was cropped by me. I think it would be hard to find an original jpeg from camera but here is a clean jpeg I made from RAW with Lightroom

Here's mine
I am only using smartphone photos for now and I use snapseed to edit them. I doubt any other app will do better with a smartphone pic.
Thank you for participating, will see, i usually edit them on pc, even if are taken with the camera, the Lightroom classic have a lot of tools, combined with Photoshop is quite powerful.
How awesome! Let’s see let me go through my photo library and find a good one that would be cool to transform.
This is a nice one of my wife and son at the beach on our vacation before the China flu started here in the states. Let’s see you work your magic my friend!
My wife @ssiena posted a macro photography set a few days ago, light room cleaned the pictures up so much!
Thank you for taking part, is a cool photo, will see what I can do about it to make it stand out, is taken at right time, love the sunsets and sunrises and the golden hour.
Not bad. At all! Good job! :)
thanks, you can participate if you want just add a photo in the comments :)
Interesting. I'm sure you'll greatly improve my photography. You had a very good idea. Thanks!
Thank you for taking part 🙂📸
With pleasure! My interest, too.
nice photos indeed. I think I will take part of it later on. As soon I will be free from work I will send as DM a photo

Ah Vatican City. Fantastic place! Miss being in Rome quite a bit, especially nowadays.
So basically you want our crappiest shots and you will do magic on them?
Challenge accepted :D
well not the crappiest, but yeah some unedited photos, there are some photos that can not be rescued 🤣
@ewkaw waiting for your photo 🙂📸 if you get some time
I did not forget!
I just had to find the right one :)
