House Piles

in #photography7 years ago

I find these these around rural Southern Illinois surprisingly often. You have a house, out on a country road, that becomes abandoned and is left to wither away. I'm not sure why I'm so fascinated by it. This one's roof fell in and then these vines grew on it making it look cool. The other house is nothing but a pile now. It was just down the street from the other.

  • I don't remember where this was, other than it was out on the edge of a bigger town, like Mount Vernon, Eldorado, or Marion, Illinois.

While digging through photos, I was able to find the location. These are in the North Eastern outskirts of Eldorado, IL.

Finding them on Google Street View painted a somewhat sad history. Just 4 years ago, when the street view images where taken in September 2013, both of these houses were still standing.
