Official Communiqué from the Church of Piglet

in #piglet7 years ago (edited)

If you, as a small fish, don't dare to flag over-rewarded trending posts of doubtful quality, the Church of Piglet understands, and we will not smite you with the Ivy Staff.

Whales, however, need not fear retaliation for their flags and may want to take some responsibility for the well-being of Steemit, like they did in Olden Days.

We suggest to the rest to mute instead, to at least give a signal, and also to make your Steemit experience a better one.

The Church of Piglet only trends in #piglet and #churchofpiglet, for your searching convenience and for, um, other reasons.

Go in peace, or rather, read and resteem The Church of Piglet's Guidelines, and then go in peace, or in anger, as the case may be.

We care so you don't have to. We guide so you don't get lost.

Donate generously to obtain a full membership and be cleansed from sin!

You gave my post a down vote for .02 ... I just upvoted yours 💯 at .36...the next 💯vote will be a downvote. Please down downvote my post, I work very hard on steemit and if you don’t agree with my rewards simply ignore them. You may see them as not worthy but I spent the whole 4th of July working on steemit and not celebrating, my time and effort is worth far more than what you think I don’t deserve

I got one, too. I took it as a sign of success. People only hate you when you're successful. I didn't retaliate, though, because I'm bigger than that. I upvoted instead. :)

We disagree with the rewards, especially considering the quality of this photo. How much work you put into it is irrelevant.

I don’t think your post is relevant yet I didn’t downvote it. It’s a random photo project, I didn’t put this photo with a photo tag, it’s a blog. Why is it up to you how much time I spent on this post ? I spent 12 hours on steemit yesterday doing work yesterday and paid my own money for the vote, this is allowed and if you don’t agree with it you might get downvotes for your posts I find irrelevant

I make posts to engage comments and I upvote comments ...It appears you just got here this month and already have such insight on what's right and wrong, if you did some investigating you would see that i have been here since November and have been working 40 hours a week on here, never taken money out of the system, have pumped more money into it and helped it grow than i have hurt the system. And i don't go to church, especially one that has a pig for a preacher

You may not have realised that this account is run by a very established user who knows Steemit very well. BTW Voting up your own comments is frowned upon too. Don't worry too much about the money. Build a good following and it will come.

i am working my ass off man, not that i am trying to rationalize anything, i put 20k into this platform and believe in it, i have worked hard to build a post promotion on discord and and upvoted every post for many minnow, i don't retaliate, i realize i can get crushed and don't look at the size of people accounts and decide how to respond. i upvoted my own comments because i was upset. thats the bottom line. i worked my ass off yesterday doing my very best instead of celebrating and it sucks to get knocked down, i am just trying to build steem so my vote is worth more for my post promotion, i don't think it's a crime. i just want to get along with people and do my best

I also spend many hours on Steemit and I support a lot of people with SP I have built up over nearly 2 years. Anything goes on this service, but each person will make their own judgement of what is right. I think you may be overreacting considering how small the flags have been. A lot of people have strong opinions on buying votes, on both sides. Just see what happened to me a while back for trying to deal with abuse of the system. I also got threatened by another big user who could have done more damage to my account. Consider yourself lucky.

I am not worried about the money, I am worried to not make mistakes continually and figuring out exactly the problem. I take everything too serious it’s my nature. I see your account is very good and I believe most people here are good. Bid bots are a problem I agree, not sure what the solution is though

Having been hit with retaliatory flagging I am wary. We can delegate to other accounts who will do it. It depends on how much investigation the flagged folk will do. I support those who get flagged and don't deserve it.

So far, the Church of Piglet has only been threatened with retaliatory flagging, just now, in fact.

In view of the size of our wallet, we can only hope for friendly help if such threats are ever carried out.

It is very hard to do Trend Watching without giving the odd flag here and there for disagreement with rewards, even when one is too small-walleted to win the war.

I just gave friendly help but upvoting a post I wanted to downvote ... I worked my ass off yesterday and than am downvoted. I made 4 posts yesterday and rather than downvote look on my blog and upvote something that is found to be worthy

I didn’t deserve it

First suggested use of flagging is 'Disagreement on rewards'. I disagree that your posts deserve $100+ for a blurry photo. Feel free to retaliate on my non-promoted posts.

its not a photography contest and i bid on the wrong post if you want to know the truth. i meant to upvote my when I'm 64 post and used the wrong memo, as you can see i came here and retaliated with nothing but upvotes. including upvoting yours, i am not looking for a fight, i want to get along with people

I'm not looking to fight either, but it's not like I did you much damage. I had a certain Mr H wipe out all my posts one week and they only had a few dollars whilst he makes thousands each day. I think flagging is valid and a totally personal judgement. The trending page is junk and bad for Steemit as it stands.

I'll be nice and withdraw my flag, this time. I'm not sure how much good you are doing your account by buying votes, but it's your choice and you have to accept if others disagree.

from one fellow acoustic guitar player to another, i appreciate it. i have been crushed using bots too and don't necessarily agree with the concept of bid bots, i am keeping my investment in the game and going down in flames if i have to. buying votes doesn't make a lot but does attract new minnows that i can upvote in the comments and do, big votes attract small fish. i have never even looked at the trending page and don't try to get on there. I am a respectful steemian and of course care about the platform because every dime i had i put into it, i don't want to cause it harm at all. appreciate your openness to a conversation.

and for the blurriness of the photo, it was fourth of july and i was on my 8th beer, i didn't even see it was blurry till someone said it this morning, not an excuse but a good reason to not drink and blog

Sound advisements. Yes, sound indeed

If this is a church, where the hell is the wine? Wine and bacon sounds damn fine!

Wine is only served to paying members. Bacon is never served; those asking for it are fed to the pigs, as we are a church of modest means. And we can't do rhyme.

lol, I did not mean to rhyme.

If feed to the pigs, do I become godly?

We do keep an eye on the pig excrement produced, but haven't found any sign of godliness in it so far.
