THE TOOTHACHE PLANT...
Mother Nature's gift to you for those suffering!
It will RE-SEED itself in PA's cold weather, but not all seeds will survive the following year!
A few loners will pop up and I guard them with my LIFE! Collect the seeds in the fall for a much more efficient way to keep this plant going every year!
It is a ground cover more or less!
I let it come up EVERYWHERE!!!
Named for its ability to NUMB the gums!
This is a powerhouse and if you BITE on that cute little gumdrop looking flower, you will immediately get a numbing sensation on your tongue!
Now I don't know about you, but I have certainly taken that to my full advantage especially for muscle rubs and first aid!
THINK ABOUT THAT! Numbing.....anti-inflammatory...anti-bacterial...anti-fungal...hmm..
You can eat the leaves in salads, or dry them and make daily teas too!
Think about what that can do!
Lots of cute ways to package your creations...
Currently looking to replace any plastic in these pics!
I'll post a link to some available seeds below as well as some articles on its uses!
EASY TO START SEEDS yourself!
FOR THOSE NEW TO THIS PLEASE READ.....
I know everyone keeps asking for recipes, but before you do that, I want to explain something! When you create your own homemade necessities, it is not only scary and a little intimidating, but also possibly even dangerous to just follow someone's directions.
In my opinion, eventually, you need to be able to work with these backyard herbs without a recipe!!!
You will never understand the answers to why, how, when, and what for, if you don't start from the bottom and work your way up! Pick ONE HERB, and ONE OIL Or Alcohol and start your research there! Understand how each herb responds to your own body, and you will experience a whole new world you never thought possible in this day and age!!!
I am happy to help you understand how to do this!
The future is worth the patience of the present!

We grow this in our herb garden every year as well. I make a tincture out of the flower and young leaves using a light white wine. Take a small mason jar, cram it half full of leaves & flower bits, pour over the white wine to fill up the jar. let it sit, loosely covered with the lid on -for about a month. Strain the plant material out and tighten down the lid. Keep in the fridge or medicine cabinet. Use as a mouthwash to soak sore gums from dentures or dab a cloth or cotton ball and apply to your troubled tooth.
