Another Poet Presents... A Rhyme or a Rap?

in #poem7 years ago

Is it a rhyme is it a rap, is it about time to sit back and relax?

Don’t have to imagine where the 420s at cause between here and there we been there and done that...

Is it about the money or the power?

The energy we get from makin the milk sour or charging the green bar bringing the level of light up...

It could be used to do good or breed evil...

One of the very few lessons to learn more important in the world we live in than the art of making the deal and it’s commercial appeal...

This capitalist society got the rats in the maze running on their heels, its gone beyond the point of a rat race, the current state of affairs in no better than a total disgrace...

These radical ideas are like ink on paper.

It’s the love of the money ya get that turns around and begins to own you.

Humanity has always found a way to subjugate the masses that don’t know what to do.

It’s the love of the money that presents itself in a way that puts you in a place where you gotta choose….

Said it puts you in a place where you gotta choose… So what exactly are you willing to do for it?

Author's Notes

This is a short verse I wrote in collaboration for a friend's album. Always interested in knowing my reader's thoughts and opinions so if you liked it or didn't like it, I'd love to hear your opinion either way!

Awesome poem man! I love the 420 and weightlifting 🏋

Decent! ✍. 👏
Tell it like it is!

Absolutely loved it, the way that it didn't followed any of those stereotypical poetry rules and regulations they teach you on day1 yet still sings through the background even after you completed reading is flawless.
I myself just recently started writing some poems, no where near as good as you though.
Do comment on my poetry i have posted here ,if you got some extra sec. Thanks

Thanks. It really means a lot to me. I'm happy you enjoyed it and found the rhyme scale to be interesting. Lyrics are quite enjoyable to write and essentially its poetry made specifically for the microphone. Wordplay is fun, using alliteration and not getting into a standard rhythm seem to make ideas come to life more.. I will definitely check out your poetry and give you feedback on it. Thanks again for dropping by.

My pleasure
