The Bridge Between Worlds (Original Poetry)

in #poetry5 days ago (edited)

Silence can be collusion,
a pact with the void,
a nod to the unanswered questions
we were too afraid to ask.

We are quickly approaching the end,
the mystery of life’s echo fading—
but is all knowledge worth the weight
of its revelation?

I feel extremely blessed,
to be here at the precipice,
this trembling bridge between worlds.

To have known what it is
to be a flawed human, it isn’t nothing.
The beauty of our thousands
of broken pieces glistening
like prisms in the sun.

Soon we will
no longer stand dumb
before Creation,
our eyes half-closed,
our hearts half-sure.
The days of plausible deniability
are dissolving now like the morning mist.

Reality rises,
no longer held hostage
by imagination’s fragile weave.

We can see the bridge
and it beckons,
we step forward,
whole in our breaking,
bathed in the glow
of so many unspoken truths.

Be well and make the most of this day.

Poetry should move us, it should change us, it should glitch our brains, shift our moods to another frequency. Poetry should evoke feelings of melancholy, whimsy, it should remind us what it feels like to be in love, or cause us to think about something in a completely different way. I view poetry, and all art really, as a temporary and fragile bridge between our world and a more pure and refined one. This is a world we could bring into creation if enough of us believed in it. This book is ephemera, destined to end up forgotten, lingering on some dusty shelf or tucked away in a dark attic. Yet the words, they will live on in memory. I hope these words become a part of you, bubble up into your memory when you least expect them to and make you feel a little more alive.

Most of us have experienced a moment of perfect peace at least once in our lives. In these moments we lose ourselves and feel connected to everything. I call these mindful moments. Words can’t describe how complete they make us feel.

These moments are usually fragile, evaporating in seconds. What if there was a way to train your mind to experience more of them? It’s deceptively easy and requires nothing more than a subtle shift in mindset. My new book, Mindful Moments, will teach you to be much more content despite the chaos and imperfect circumstances continuing to unfold around you. Beautiful words Eric, someone said to me

the veil is getting thinner.

This is what your poem conveys to me.

Aren't we blessed to be living in these times!

I hope that your plumbing issues are sorted and that you're having a wonderful Christmas period!

Thank you Lizelle. That is so true, I feel like people are less likely to take things at face value now. They're questioning everything and I think that's what needs to happen. The pace at which AI and quantum computing are evolving now will bring about an evolutionary renaissance for humanity and it's going to happen so quickly. We'll find answers to questions that we didn't even know existed. I read an article about quantum computing and there's a growing theory that these computers are performing calculations in other dimensions/universes. That's really wild to think about. We are blessed to live in this time! I just hope we can find a way to balance ourselves and stay grounded during this explosion of innovation. The internet and the tech we've seen up to this point was just a practice run in comparison to what we'll see in the next ten years. We had the plumber out yesterday and he opened up the lower level bathroom ceiling. He isolated the leak to the upstairs shower but there's no major water damage or mold so we're thankful for that! Hopefully this was the last of the surprises for us. Happy New Year to you my friend!

We are coming to the end and it's a good thing we are here. We feel blessed not only for what we know, but also for all that we have yet to discover. We just have to move forward on that bridge, even if we are afraid, even if we don't know what is on the other side. Isn't that what life is all about? I hug you tight, my friend.
Oh, by the way, that Gif looks amazing. Just looking at it is inspiring.

Yes, it feels a bit like humanity is coming to the end of its adolescent phase and will step into the responsibilities and freedoms of adulthood. You're so right, the only way through is forward. Thank you Nancy! I instantly knew I was going to use that .gif when I saw it. I was trying to find a wooden foot bridge with mist enveloping it but saw this one I knew it was the one. Happy New Year to you! This will probably be my last post of the year. I'll be sending my wish for peace and a wonderful year up to the heavens when the clock strikes midnight.

If this is the last publication of this year, it is the right time to thank you for all the support you have given me this year. You don't know how inspiring you have been to me, with your words, your posts, with #memoirmonday. This year has been hard for me, but among the nice things I am thankful to have had this year is your presence through this screen. I wish that everything beautiful that exists in the universe is waiting for you from day one. A thousand blessings to you and your family, Eric. I love you very much. Hugs

You're very welcome Nancy! I'm so glad to hear that you've found inspiration in my writing and the Memoir Monday initiative. Hearing that is like the icing on the cake. After being on this platform for so long I sometimes wonder if people are still enjoying what I do. It's been so much fun sponsoring Memoir Monday. It's kind of hard to believe we just have just a few prompts left! I appreciate that very much and echo those wishes back to you. Much love to you and your family and here's to making 2025 the best year yet.

Life is a bridge between the known and the unknown, between the colorful world and the black and white. Those poetic valuations are part of that experience called life and so masterfully exposed in this poem. Thank you for sharing. Happy end and beginning of the year. Cheers and greetings.

Thank you! The peace and quiet of our new home are working wonders for the muse. I haven't written this much and this consistently for about a decade. Blessings to you for a wonderful New Year!

The trembling bridge sounds like the worm hole between parellel worlds.

It could be! That's fascinating to think about.

Thank you for such a thoughtful poem

Thanks for taking the time to read it, Christy! Happy New Year!

Very beautiful poem, the words are beautifully arranged.

I appreciate it!

I really enjoyed it

Here's a small tip 👍🏾 @tipu curate

Beautiful poetry

I saw something online the other day about China getting ready to announce a huge scientific breakthrough. It ended up being nothing, but it still feels like we are just a heartbeat away from some big thing that is going to change the world.

I wonder if it was their 6th gen fighter jet? I saw something about that. Apparently it's way more advanced than anything on Earth. It's a capable fighter as well as a space plane.

I agree, with so many advancements happening in AI/Quantum Computing/Fusion it's just a matter of time. I think we're closer to AGI than anything else ATM, it may have already happened.

That is possible. I feel like that came out about a week later than when it was expected, but that doesn't mean that wasn't it.

I think this poem is a perfect bridge between the real world and imagination reflecting the power of words that resonate in the hearts of its readers. Amazing! Thank you for sharing for life.

Thanks, so happy you enjoyed it!
