Transience

in #poetry6 years ago

On this lion's morning, I sit
So Calm
The light, the gentle stillness,
My care-heart carries the weight of the world
(oh, it's so heavy) easily.

As the base of a mountain, I rest.
My humanity trembles,
Soon. Quite soon, the landslide
will expose my foundations,
Magma will erupt and dissolve
this hard-won moment of fortitude.

Even in the extent of the solid earth,
There is no peace.

That's very beautiful.
A mountain and a lion are not accused of evil will. It lies in its nature, in its strength, it shows itself at first unshakable and then, when it passes away, when the lion's teeth fall out and the foundation slips away from the mountain, even the calmness of mountain and lion is gone. One may become sad about it, because as a human being this transition never shows itself so violently and we have other people who want to mourn with us and make it more bearable...

P.S. I shouldn't say "never": A heart attack is also a violent incident.
