POEM: A Duel With Failure

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

He turned
And stabbed me with a scary stare
Then the music turned dead
An emptiness from nowhere

He turned
And on my face thrusted a glare
'You won't get up!' He said
Before he struck me with fear

You made it sound as if you really know what it is like to have experienced violence. Whether I am right or not does not matter, what does matter is that you were able to put the message across in a realistic manner.

I'm seeing a lot of poetry out of Africa (I also live in Africa, but I'm a Cypriot) and it pleases me. Keep in mind, song and stories are a reaching out by the heart. Poetry is a reaching out by the soul.

I love the simplicity and clarity you poured into composing this. A number persons actually think a great poem is one with ambiguity. But i do not think that is correct.
"You did not fail because you fell. You rather failed because you failed to get up." Thanks a lot for this!

This is some great piece, you got right here bro.
I really love it....Will u be dropping another one any time soon?
