It pervades.
Invades.
It’s carried on the wind
To the furthest reaches
Of the eaves;
It beads the leaves
And ripples the streets
Makes irises in the pond.
Clothes are damp,
Rooms are chill
A clammy mist hides the hill.
And still I come
Through thunder shocks
On autumn nights
When no one walks,
And still I look
To find your light,
Red and gold
In darkest night.
This is my life lately. You unknowingly write of the woman I love.
To the extent that the women we love are compassionate and lovely, Jung is correct - all women are the same. But the women we love are also unique which makes our love so precious
Firstly, I LOVE the picture. It reminds me of a good cry and my mascara smudging the side of my face. (Yes you can use that line).
You rhymed in this one!! Whaaaaat????
I can hear the beating of the rain, the pervasive sound it makes with the words you use. And the silent rescue of the red and gold.
Hi @countrygirl sounds like you are also an expert poet?
haha...no, no. I like to understand and observe things. I'm a reader, not a writer. I wish I were one though :)
What do you like to read?
You know redheads have both red and gold in their hair, so the window square is symbolic of his Love :)
I missed the window symbolism but yes, I know about gingers. Hello. :)
I was just being subtle :)
you were :) I know. And I was being obvious. And silly.
I know that :)
Hahahahahahaha! Yes, truly out of character... but perfectly placed!
I have a tendency to point out the obvious.....hahahaha.....he's like Matlock and knows the answers to everything!
It's like raining angels :)

There you go again making me highly high on choice of words.
My god of Poetry!
It was a darling view to imagine red and gold light in darkest night! Such beauty!
Did you close your eyes to imagine it while writing?
I am thirsty for more. . . .
@johnjgeddes
thanks @mimy - I suppose visual imagery comes easiest to me. Yes, I'm always picturing what I write and am even narrating inside my head everything I do throughout the day - it's like a radio announcer commenting in the background and I wasn't even aware that I did that until I caught myself narrating dialogue one morning while shaving LOL!!
Loved this!
thanks, @writerbro
Magic! I just saw the rain you described!)
thanks, @anforo :)
I absolutely love the imagery throughout this piece, especially "Makes irises in the pond." Beautiful. :)
thanks Tina - Do you realize you are the only one who noticed that small image?
It particularly struck me, both as an allusion to eyes and as what the rain nurtures in forthcoming blooms... I love this piece.
thanks, Tina - I appreciate that
love your poem they are simply beautiful,
thank you, @joendegz!
Delightful.
😄😇😄
thanks :)
Beautiful Words, you always seem to immerse yourself ( or your characters) in rain.
