E I

There is an ink drop
black as pitch
reflective
a mix of all colors
everything
within
all of which sparkles
outward

There you are
as always
all I’ve known
and not known
always there
somehow black
as space

There is a night that never ends
that is shiny with
little holes of silver
a long stretch for the eye it goes on
silent
and somehow not

There I am
always there
in that room
in those rooms
like dirt coffers
or crocus bulbs
I’m waiting
in darkness

I’ve always known you
You
pushing against me
sometimes soggy and mineral rich
other times hard and dry
cracked
sharp
pain

You
a breath
and words
liquid that stains
you
permeate the humus
You
seep in
and are contrast

I
a vessel
or a hinge
that opens
or unfurls
I
absorb
you
I become color
and am changed

There is a night that gives way
deep hues of orange
and purple pink
a time when the light
and warmth reach my core
rain that comes to my deep
darkened by you
all around

with a prayer
I become unhinged
my core pushes forth
a promise of Spring
all in a crocus bloom
and a drop of earth ink

Dripping in magic as always......
❤️

::blush:: Thank you, Darling. <3

For reasons you understand, I'll probably not delve as deeply into this poem, at least not in public. But I love it. I also love the video you've made for it, with the bright-red veil making you look closer to a ninja than a bedouin at the start. With the sound braiding on top of itself, and the effects supporting the voice rather than eclipsing it.
I love it.

Also, before I got to the end of the video, after the words ended, I kept wondering what did the "E I" symbolized. Was it some occult cipher I'm missing? Did it stand for "He and I"? That was my best guess. But when I watched the video the second time, I noted it stands for "Earth Ink," hmmm.

Veils, and the liquid effect, and constantly rising from your slumber, constantly being revealed. A net like a veil like the effect in a confessional. Ripples, as the water is there, but like the voice effects, it permeates, it underlies. It doesn't overtake. An ink drop, rather than a bottle of ink poured in to overrun and drown out the details.

The colour of space is one of the things I find most interesting. Because on one hand, it has no colour. On the other hand, I hear you. Some of my earlier cosmological thoughts, the personal ones, are about how light is a lie. In an infinite universe, a finite amount of light tells you there is no light. That it is only an illusion, a false hope, not yet knowing how it is all surrounded by the darkness, that it is small and insignificant.

Yet it is not.
The light is a tear. A tear in the world. A series of hallways, of wounds, into some place different. From which light to paint with, light that paints us, seeps in.

And this piece is about tension. About what you know, and don't know. What you've always known, and never had. About light in the dark, about wounds that heal, about silence that speaks to you. About earth where things go to die and from which they spring. About ink to paint you, to paint about. About colours in the dark, about changing.
About poetry of the soul.

I sometimes envision myself as a giant canvas with all the details and intricacies and experiences of my life splayed out in paint for all to see all over me.

I may be projecting because I want to know someone relates to this, but I couldn't get by that bias when reading this piece - it seemed to connect with me on the level that this perception lives to an extraordinary extent.

My first love in this poem were these two lines, which I adore:

like dirt coffers
or crocus bulbs

but then, and I know it's cliche to say that I like the end the best, but these lines:

my core pushes forth
a promise of Spring

are just so much. so much so, I'm jealous I didn't write them (not a common feeling for me, I just love and feel so connected to them).

But yes, this is just gosh darn lovely, @mamadini, and, of all the poems I've missed reading, I'm so happy I read this one today. Thank you for sharing.

Oh my! I am truly honored by such feedback. I love that feeling when I read lines that I wish I had written.

  • "I sometimes envision myself as a giant canvas with all the details and intricacies and experiences of my life splayed out in paint for all to see all over me."

YES -- I totally understand and feel the same so very often (with what I create).

Thank you for this wonderful feedback. :)

The trance-like effect created by the combination of abstracted sound and veiled images manifests the feeling of transformation through communing with the unconscious, symbolizing the transcending theme of your intense, compelling writing. Marvelous <3

There really is a hypnotic feel to this piece. ;)

Thank you, sweet JP. <3

Powerful, juicy, incredible & look at all the commotion.. I love it & your reach within the readers. You are a gift!

Thank you, Amy. I think this is my fave of the time-arts stuff I've done in the last two months. <3

with a prayer
I become unhinged
my core pushes forth
a promise of Spring
all in a crocus bloom
and a drop of earth ink

I had to stop and take a photo of these particular crocus yesterday. They had obtained an inky purple colour. Rich soil grows remarkable things, much like this write:)

I do so love the early spring flowers, the crocus and blue bells, such rich lore too (the Fey).

Thank you for these lovely words. <3

We are still waiting on the bluebells to ring:)

They are up here and glorious! :)

I love the visual nature of the descriptive imagery in this poem. It is disquieting

You
a breath
and words
liquid that stains
you
permeate the humus
You
seep in
and are contrast

while enticing - it is this dark beauty which held me spell bound. And the spoken word videos use of colour, light and sound just drives that atmosphere home.

Really nice mamadini!

Thank you kindly @raj808.

I very much appreciate your taking the time to listen and leave these beautiful words. :)
